Tarte Bon Voyage

Tarte Bon Voyage

One day at work, my friends and I had some downtime and were looking at the Sephora website to see what holiday sets they had for this year. We found the Tarte Bon Voyage set and it looked really awesome so I decided to ask for it for Christmas. Right after that, my one friend bought it for herself and told me how great it was! I started to think to myself, “Oh no, what if I don’t get it, now that I have seen it I want it so badly!”

I am aware that this sounds greedy, but it is just such a beautiful set and I have been looking for a palette I loved for a long time. I got it for Christmas and I was so absolutely excited to see it! I did my makeup with it that same day and was immediately obsessed. I decided to do some swatches for you guys in case you wanted to see what the colours were like.

I did brush and finger swatches for each colour just so you could see what the difference in pigmentation was. The swatches in the left column of each picture are with brushes, and the ones on the right are with my finger. I took my pictures row by row so that it would be easy to identify. Unfortunately, a couple of the colours are hard for my camera to pick up because they are light but they are beautiful too!

This set comes in the beautiful gold and purple case that can be seen above. It came with the palette which I will discuss further later on. It also includes (from left to right in the bottom of the picture below):

0.06 oz LipSurgence lip tint in Romantic (peachy nude)

0.27 LipSurgence lip gloss in Visionary (apricot)

0.13 oz Deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4-in- mascara

0.17 oz Limited-edition deluxe cheek stain in Muse (soft nude)

0.23 Deluxe Maracuja Oil

0.07 Deluxe Smooth Operator Amazonian clay finishing powder

Tarte Bon Voyage Open

In my bag, the lip tint had come loose and the cap popped off. There was some lip tint in near the zipper and smeared inside the bag a little bit. Fortunately, I don’t use bags like this too often and the lip tint itself was only a little bit dented so no harm no foul!

Tarte Extra Swatches

On the left hand side of this photo is the swatch for the LipSurgence lip tint in Romantic. This was the colour that ended “leaking” (if you will) a little bit inside the bag. Lip crayon type applications are so nice and convenient and this colour is absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to wear this out and about. The middle swatch is the LipSurgence lip gloss and it is quite nice. It is definitely a nice neutral colour and I think it will look great on its own or over carious lip colours. Very happy with this! Lastly, the right hand swatch is the cheek stain in Muse which is a limited edition apparently. Looking at this colour in the tube, I thought it was far too brown. However, after swatching it, I really liked the colour! I am excited to have all three of these products!

Also in the bag were the mascara, the face oil, and the setting powder. I have purchased this on my own before and actually just received it in my December Ipsy bag too. I really like this product, I think it does a great job coating the lashes and really gives a great look to them. I have not tried the oil yet but I am interested to see how it performs. A lot of bold claims are made on the Sephora website about this oil so I would like to see if it it lives up to these claims. Finally, is the setting powder. I don’t typically use setting powder (and didn’t own one until now) because I mostly use powder foundation. I have been trying to use BB creams lately though and have been considering purchasing a setting powder so this was perfect timing!

I am considering all of these things “extras” because what I really was after in this set was the palette. However, even though they weren’t what I was going for, they are beautiful products and I am so happy to have them! Now, let’s look at the eyeshadows!

Tarte Palette

I probably should have waited until I had taken this picture before I swatched everything but I was so impatient and wanted to get into them, so ignore the marks in every colour. The following pictures are in order from the top row to the bottom. I also included both brush swatches and finger swatches. The brush swatches are on the top and the finger swatches are on the bottom, just so you can see the difference in pigmentation. Here we go!

Row 1 Swatches

Row 1 (left to right): Palace of Versaille, Moulin Rouge, I Think I Cannes, my own Côtes du Rhône, boudoir noir

I am absolutely obsessed with some of the names in this palette! “I Think I Cannes” is one of my favourite names, just because it’s adorable. Unfortunately in the swatches it is really hard to see Palace of Versailles but you can see in the overall palette picture that it is a beautiful soft pink. When I did my makeup for Christmas, I used this as a highlight under my brows and in the inner corners of my eyes. I love this!

Moulin Rouge is more of a taupe with some cool, almost purple undertones to it. I used this as an all over lid colour for Christmas and really liked it. I Think I Cannes is a darker version of Moulin Rouge that has a little more purple in it. It is almost a plum type of colour that is nice as a soft crease colour.

My own Côtes du Rhône is a dark, beautiful purple colour that I adore. I wore this on the outer corner of my eye and loved it! Finally, boudoir noir is a burgundy type colour leaning towards brown when it is on the skin. I don’t tend to wear super dark colours but with this palette I think that I could make it work!

The first four of the first row colours have a matte finish which I really like because I have been using mostly shimmers from my E.L.F palette (which does not compare, obviously!) and I am happy to have more mattes. Boudoir noir is a little bit matte but does have a sort of sheen to it, like a satin finish. Since neutrals and purples are the colours I steer towards anyways, the first row is kind of my comfort zone.

Row 2 Swatches

Row 2 (left to right): fall in Louvre, Provence upon a time, Eiffel for you, too haute to handle, Bastille in the night

Fall in Louvre is another colour where you can’t really see the swatch. This colour is a peachy apricot shadow that does have a little bit of satin sheen to it. It is a really pretty colour and would be nice for a warm eye base. Provence upon a time is a brown-gold kind of colour that isn’t quite a shimmer but does have some shine to it. It is really pretty!

Eiffel for you is another one that I absolutely love the name of! This is a deeper brown kind of colour that almost has a slight greenish-grey undertone to it. This one has a matte finish and is very pretty (although I say this about all of them). Too haute to handle is a bronze kind of brown that also isn’t shimmery but has a shine to it. Finally in this row is Bastille in the night which is a dark brown with the same sort of finish as too haute to handle.

I really like all of the colours in this row too! I can’t wait to play around with the darker colours to see if I can actually make them work without having clown face.

Row 3 Swatches

Row 3 (left to right): Chantilly lace, merci you later, no Champagne no gain, take on Bordeaux, French Riviera

In the pan, Chantilly Lace is a beautiful beige with a shimmer to it. When I apply it onto my skin, the beige is so light that I can hardly see it, and there is more of a beige type shimmer left behind. I do think this is really pretty though and I think it could help add a little something something to your eyes! Merci you later is a nice warm taupe that goes on with a matte finish. I think this is a colour that I will get a lot of use out of!

No Champagne, no gain is a metallic gold that leans towards brown. I think that because it doesn’t come out as like a foil kind of metallic, it will definitely be wearable. Take on Bordeaux is a beautiful deep brown that almost leans towards the burgundy side. It has a satin type finish and although it’s quite dark, I am going to try and use this because it’s lovely. Finally for this row is French Riviera which is a frosty kind of moss green I would say. When I saw this online, I thought that I would never wear it. However, after swatching it, I think it is one of my favourite colours in the palette.

This row has some colours that I wouldn’t naturally reach for but that I find absolutely stunning and can’t wait to use!

Row 4 Swatches

Row 4 (left to right): c’est la vie, Marseille the word, play Nice, on a good Notre Dame, Le Cordon Bleu

First we have c’est la vie which is a very shimmery, metallic kind of gunmetal (maybe?) with an almost pink undertone to it. This one has quite a bit of shine to is and applies kind of thinly so i would be afraid of fallout but I do love this colour so I am interested in trying it. Next is Marseille the word which is a slightly darker and less shimmery version of the c’est la vie. I think this colour is really pretty!

Play Nice is a purple leaning towards the grey side of things. It is really pretty but I think I would need to use this one a little bit sparingly. On a good Notre Dame is a black that is mostly matte. I still haven’t ever figured out how to wear black eyeshadow, and can’t do a smoky eye to save my life. I may try and use this one in teeny tiny amounts to darken up a look for a night out. Finally, the last colour in the palette is Le Cordon Bleu which is a dark bluish purple that is mostly matte. This didn’t go onto the skin nearly as dark as I thought it would and may be a nice purple alternative to the black shadow.

This row is the one that scares me in this palette. I don’t typically wear very dark shadows and so I don’t know how to apply them in a subtle kind of way. Fortunately for me, with this palette I can play around with them to see what I can do!

Now it is time for overall impressions. If you have read this far than you can probably assume that I am absolutely obsessed with this entire set! I am so happy with all of the “extra” products and can’t wait to use them. As for the palette, I absolutely love the packaging! It is thin and sleek, and the design is beautiful. The actual colours are so pretty and they just feel buttery and soft. I am so excited to play around with it. This was a limited edition set so it probably won’t come back in stock but if they offered up the same type of thing next year I would probably purchase it! That is all for this review, thanks for reading!

Beauty Joy Box December 2014

This is my December 2014 Beauty Joy Box and it is the second month of boxes for this company. The cost of this box is $15 a month with free shipping within the US. There is an extra $5 shipping fee to Canada and $10 to ship internationally. Each box ships on the 15th of the month so for those of us in Canada, that means receiving it relatively late in the month (November 24 for this particular month). Each box comes with 1 jewelry item, 1 full sized beauty item and 2-3 deluxe sized samples.

I was really impressed with the November 2014 box, so let’s see what I thought about this month!

December 2014 Box

December 2014 Box OpenJust like last month, I am so impressed with the way that they have packaged their box. They seem to take a lot of time to make sure it looks classy and well wrapped. I love it!

December 2014 Box Inside

Personalized Necklace

Copper, Brass, and Bronze Personalized Necklace ($12)

These necklaces are individually hand-stamped and made with care just for you!

Beauty Joy posted on Facebook maybe a month to a month and a half ago saying that they were sending out personalized jewelry. They asked everyone to email them with the letter that you would like them to use for the jewelry. I thought it was really great of them to put in so much work organizing individual letters for each person. I of course got an A for mine and it is stamped on the little copper disc. I really like this necklace, I think is so cute! I love the older metal look of this. I can be a little picky with jewelry and I have liked the pieces they have sent both months!

PopBeauty StainPopBeauty Stain Swatch

PopBeauty Stain Stay ($16)

A Hydra-light stain that is packed with colour in a no-smudge, no-budge formula that provides effortless flawless lips!

I’m not sure if these were randomly selected colours or not because it doesn’t say anything about the particular colour on the card. I got this lip colour in Brick Beauty and I think it is nice. Reds are nice during the colder months and I am interested to see what this looks like on. I was already wearing a pretty bright lip colour so I haven’t been able to wear it on my lips yet. Applying it to my hand did feel a little bit like I was using a marker but it’s nice. I think you may need to use a clear liner for this one though to prevent feathering. I’m happy with this!

Sephora EyelinerSephora Eyeliner Swatch

Sephora Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner ($13)

Budge-resistant black matte colour with a touch of silver sparkle, in an easy-glide, creamy texture formula. With a built in sharpener and smudge tip, this liner is your all-in-one must-have!

I was thrilled to see a Sephora product in here! I have never used any Sephora brand eyeliners before so I am excited to give this a try. When swatching it on my hand, it felt very creamy and the glitter isn’t too overwhelming which is nice! You notice the glitter more when you smudge it out so just keep that in mind!

Burt's Bees Lotion

Burt’s Bees Milk and Honey Body Lotion ($1.50)

Milk, Honey, and Vitamin E, designed to soften your skin and is clinically proven to moisturize for up to 24 hours.

The only thing I have tried from Burt’s Bees is their lip balm but I have considered buying other products from them before. This 1 oz. tube is definitely enough to get a feel for whether you like the product or not. It says its a body lotion but I may use it as a hand lotion instead. The smell is quite nice and subtle, and I am very happy with this as well.

CeraVe Moisturizer

CeraVe Facial Moisturizer (free)

CeraVe products are non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and fragrance-free.

I appreciate that Beauty Joy tells you this is free. Some subscription companies will try and pass free samples off as valuable products. This really demonstrates Beauty Joy’s honesty. I do have a ton of creams to use up at the moment so I may pass this along, but I have not decided about that yet.

I paid $20 for this box (including shipping) and received products valued at $42.50. They are all products that I will use, or at least pass on to someone in the case of the moisturizer. I am so very happy with this box again and can’t wait to see what they include for January!

If you are interested in this service and want to check them out, you can find their website at www.beautyjoybox.com or their facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BeautyJoyBox

Also, the company does have a referral program so if you would like to sign up using my referral link than I would really appreciate it! My link is www.beautyjoybox.com/beautylife

Memebox Superbox #79 Oh! My Lips

lips

Oh my lips! The colder season is comin’ round the corner, but are your lips ready? If taking care of your lips isn’t part of your beauty to-do list this winter, re-think your beauty priorities. Most people don’t know, but collagen loss and wrinkles around the lips add ages to your face, and with winter winds and drier climate, lips are more prone to aging and thinning. Don’t fret because we’re here to help you fight against lip-aging with this Oh! My Lips box. All goodies are made with a bold blend of potent age-delaying, moisture-enhancing, volumizing, and smoothing ingredients to give you the look of beautiful, plump, and youthful lips.

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. The prices vary depending on the type of box that you get and can range from $15-$80 I believe. Most of the regular boxes are $23 and then you also have to pay $6.99 shipping for each box. You have to keep an eye on the shipping dates for each box because it can be months away, that way you aren’t frustrated wondering why the shipping takes so long. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

This was kind of a last minute, impulse purchase. I do find that my lips get quite chapped and sore during the winter, so i thought it would be nice to have a box like this. After purchasing, I did have a little bit of buyers remorse because I have so many lip products, I didn’t really need more. However, I am quite happy that I got this box, so let’s see what we got!

Oh My Lips Box

Oh My Lips Card FrontOh My Lips Card Back

Vivito Berry

Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm 02 Berry Farm 12g ($24)

This chubby jelly-textured tinted lip balm gives rich moisture and nutrition for dry lips. With a refreshing blend of blackberry, orange peel, grape, cacao seed butter, and more natural ingredients, this cute jelly balm will be the answer to winter’s lip care concerns. It also comes in a cute tin care for on-the-go care!

This is my third tin of the Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm. Fortunately for me, I have managed to get three different kinds, and I think there only are three scents/flavours in this line. This one is the Berry Farm version and it has a lovely scent. The texture of these balms is so nice so I am happy to have another one. I’m not sure I will ever use them all up but I will definitely put them to some use.

Lassie'el Lipstick

Lassie’el Kiss Me! Glam Up! Lipstick 6ea ($6)

These are not one-time, disposable lip tattoos. They are real pigmented lipsticks packaged into these easy-to-carry lip cards, providing you with 6 different colour options to choose from according to your mood, day and occasion!

How to Use: Remove the film and apply it directly onto lips or use a lip brush. Do not throw away after a single use.

I first made a judgement on this product before I opened the box or read the information on the card. Based on the picture on the card, I thought there was either a reddish colour or a pink colour. In the front of my box was a pink colour and I was a little disappointed. When I opened the box, I thought that there were 6 single uses of the same colour. Then, when I pulled them out and actually read the card/packaging, I realized there were 6 different colours and they’re not meant to just be single uses! The colours given are Lucid Orange, Lovely Pink, Oriental Red, Natural Coral, Vintage Pin, and Creamy Nude. I am actually pretty excited about being able to try all of the different colours!!

Update: An email went out about this product saying that the 6 colours were randomly selected. I’m not sure if this means that some boxes will have duplicates but the labels on my colours are all different so I think I got one of each.

SR Lip Scrub

SR Lip Scrub 30ml ($12)

Exfoliate away dead skin skills and deeply soothe and hydrate dry, chapped lips with SR’s Lip Scrub enriched with a blend of argan oil, tocopherol, vitamin E, snail filtrate, and pearl extracts. The gentle micro-beads soften and smoothen out roughened lips for supple, kissable pout!

How to Use: Massage the scrub gently over lips for 20-30 seconds. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

This is a perfect product for the cold winter months! I have never used a lip scrub that you rinsed off, only sugar scrubs that you can kind of lick off. I am currently using a sugar lip scrub from Fortune Cookie Soap so when that is gone, I will use this one. I may even use this one as a more intensive lip scrub when needed in between uses of my FCS scrub.

Vivito Makeup Remover

Vivito Dessin Solution Lip & Eye Remover 100ml ($32)

A double-layered Lip & Eye Remover that effectively melts away stubborn point makeup and skin impurities around the sensitive eye contours and lips. Make sure to shake the upper and lower layers well together before application. Its gently blend of lemon grass oil and rosehip oil has soothing and moisturizing effects as well.

I am surprisingly happy to have received this in the box. I know that it isn’t specifically a lip product, but that is okay. The makeup remover I am using now, can’t be purchased in Canada and I was wondering the other day what I was going to use when it ran out. Now I will have this makeup remover to use next!

Rosemine Lip Balm

Rosemine Vitamin E Lip Balm Mint Tea 12g ($7)

Scented with a refreshingly minty, herbal fragrance, this Vitamin E Lip Balm is richly formulated from a blend of Vitamin E, ceramide, peppermint extracts and 5 different kinds of moisturizing essential oil. It coats over dry, chapped lips with a moisture layer to lock in the moisture and to protect against external damage or dehydration.

I have so many lip balms at the moment but it is something that I will always use so I am happy to have this. It smells very minty and feels quite nice! It sinks in which is great because I don’t love when lip balms just sit on your lips and don’t do anything. I’m happy to have this in my collection!

Overall I am a lot happier with this box than I thought I would be! I paid $27 for this including shipping and received products with a retail value totally $81. Even though this is a lower value than some boxes, I will use absolutely everything in this box so that is worth more than just a high retail value! Awesome box.

24 Days of Tea: Day 24

admin-ajax (17)

!!! SPOILERS !!!

If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂

admin-ajax (18)

For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself.

The day has finally come (only 4 days late) for our very last tea of our calendar! Let’s see which flavour it was:

Santa's Secret

Santa’s Secret

Ever wonder how Santa manages to deliver all those presents in just one night? Well here’s the hush-hush formula. He uses a special combination of Chinese black tea, peppermint leaves and spices – all sprinkled with real little candy canes. It’s both energizing and remarkably soothing. All Santa needs is one cup and his motto changes from “ho ho ho” to “go go go”.

Ingredients: black tea, peppermint, sprinkles, natural and artificial flavouring.

How to Prepare: 1.5 tsp, 98°C (208°F), 4-6 minutes

Santa's Secret Tea Ball

One thing we really liked about this tea was the cute factor of the little candy cane sprinkles in the mix. It just adds a nice little touch. I have to say that I really liked the smell of this tea. I don’t think any of the peppermint teas we have had have been black so it was interesting to see the difference. This smelled like a much sweeter, more candy-like mint than the other ones we have had. If you have read my other David’s Tea posts, you will know that my mom is not a fan of mint teas so I didn’t think she would like this one.

Santa's Secret Steeped

This was apparently quite a sweet tea with just a hint of mint, nothing like the other mint teas we have come across through our 24 Days of Tea. It still wasn’t one of moms favourites though so I think that she is going to give it away. I was kind of hoping this might be the one that changed her mind about some minty teas but no such luck. That is okay though, no harm in trying.

I do have to say that I am a little bit sad the 24 days are over. It has been really fun after dinner every day (or at least most days) being excited about which kind of tea we would get that day. I also think I was way too excited considering I don’t even drink tea, but it was nice to see mom so enthusiastic about it. I think that this is definitely a wonderful introduction to loose leaf teas and an amazing way to try many different flavours without investing too much money.

I think that this is something mom would probably do again and something I would really enjoy blogging about again. It was tough to keep up with it on a daily basis but I was glad to do it. Thank you so much to everyone who kept up with my 24 Days of Tea posts and I hope you will find some other posts of mine to enjoy!

Let’s see what we had today:

Eggnog

Eggnog

We’re pretty strict about certain holiday traditions. Especially the delicious ones. So it should come as no surprise that we insist on sipping eggnog at every festive occasion. All things considered, it’s almost crazy that it took us this long to find the perfect eggnog tea. But trust us, this rich and creemy rooibos blend was definitely worth the wait. With white chocolate, mini meringues and a hint of nutmeg, it’s a brand new tradition we can’t believe we ever went without.

Ingredients: green rooibos, white chocolate chips, meringue powder, natural and artificial flavouring.

How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 96°C (205°F), 4-7 minutes

Eggnog Tea Ball

After steeping, this tea looked relatively unappealing to be honest. To be it kind of looked like the wet bottom of a hamster cage (sorry!). It was more mushy than most of them are but this may have been from the white chocolate melting into the small bits of tea.

Eggnog Steeped

The actual tea itself had a rather cloudy look to it, almost like chicken broth or a cloudy apple cider. It didn’t have too much of a smell to it, just a slightly sweet scent. Unfortunately, this one apparently didn’t really taste like anything. I am told that it had a very subtle taste but nothing too noticeable. Fortunately, I do know of a work friend who likes the Eggnog tea so this may go to her.

My apologies, I meant to post this last night but was feeling awful so I put it off. Stay tuned because day 24 will be posted very shortly!

Memebox Black Friday Special Edition #2

Black Friday 2

Pamper a special someone with our new Black Friday Special Editions each packed with 5~7 full sized makeup and skincare miracles all for ONLY $19!!

I ordered the Black Friday boxes 1, 2 and 3 and the descriptions for all of them were the same and quite vague so I wasn’t sure what we would get. They shipped them all separately so I finally got my last box which is #2. Let’s see what came in this box!

Black Friday 2 Box

Lately Memebox has been sending out boxes without cards and have been sending out emails with online information cards instead. This was one of those boxes so you will have to trust that I’m not making up the descriptions for each product.

Blanc Doux Sunscreen

Blanc Doux Pinot Noir UV Shield & Tone-Up Sensitive 40 ml ($36)

No more blemish-instigating, oily sunscreens! Specially formulated from a strong antioxidant – premium red wine ‘Pinot Noir’ – this mild, moisturizing sunblock not only provides moderate UVA and UVB protection but also replenishes and brightens up uneven skin tone and texture, for a glowing, supple complexion.

How to Use: Apply evenly over face as a makeup base to prep skin before applying foundation or BB cream.

I absolutely love the packaging for this sunscreen. I think it is beautiful and sleek, and the colour is one of my favourites! This sunscreen was sent out in the Wine & Cheese box I believe. I am happy to have this and I will use it after I finish the sunscreens I already have.

Elizavecca Ampoule

Elizavecca Real White Vita-Sauce 30 50ml ($48)

With pure vitamin C consisting over 30% of the facial ampoule, this is a highly concentrated vitamin ampoule which provides instant moisture, whitening care, wrinkle-care, and skin protection all in one!

How to Use: Apply 2-3 drops of the ampoule and pat it in for full absorbance. Make sure to shake the bottle well before application so that the vitamin capsules in the ampoule can be evenly applied over your skin.

I am a little confused about why this is in this box when it was in the Black Friday #1 box as well. Why they put duplicate products in boxes of the same collection I have no idea. However, that being said, I am using the first one that I got and do not have any other ampoules waiting to be used so I will use this one next. At least its not a duplicate of a product that I don’t like.

Cotterang Cream

Cotterang Aesthetic Reparative-K Cream 20g ($43)

A facial cream for soothing and nourishing stimulated skin, the Aesthetic Reparative-K Cream is packed with high concentrates of centella asiatica extracts, jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, and gold extracts. Its soothing formula works to hydrate and calm reddened, sensitive skin by creating a protective layer on top and also by instigating skin regeneration.

Once again, this cream was in the Black Friday #1 box with the Elizavecca product. I haven’t used my first one yet because I have so many creams waiting to go. I’m not sure yet if I will keep this or pass it along yet. I kind of wish I hadn’t received a duplicate of this product but maybe once I start using it, I will really love it.

Tonymoly Red Wine Masks

Tonymoly I’m REAL Red Wine Mask Sheet Pore Care 21ml x 2ea ($2)

A micro-emulsion type essential mask enriched with red wine complex. It’s fast-absorbing, effectively softens uneven skin texture, and maintains a healthy moisture/oil balance. Plus, it’s free of paraben, talc, benzophenon, tri-ethanolamide, and tar colouring.

How to Use: Spread the mask sheet evenly over clean face. Rest for 15-20 minutes. Remove and pat in the remaining essence for full absorbance.

I am really excited to get these! I have been wanting to try the Tonymoly masks for awhile but haven’t found them online anywhere that I didn’t have to pay a small fortune for shipping. I absolutely love sheet masks and love getting them in my boxes so this is one of the better products of this box for me!

Mangchee Lifting Mask

Ladykin Mangchee Lifting Mask 50ml ($43)

This Mangchee Lifting Cream moisturizes, restores, replenishes, and calms the skin. Mango, cheese, and shea butter extracts boosts and locks in moisture for a dewy and youthful result. It leaves skin with an instant silky, soft, and supple feel and energizes the skin, giving you a healthy-looking, glowing complexion.

How to Use: Apply the Lifting Mask all over the face. Use before bed. Do not rinse.

This is another product that I am excited to have! I haven’t gotten any sleeping pack type masks yet from my Memeboxes even though they seem so popular! I just received a Mangchee hand cream in another Black Friday box and it seems quite nice so I am excited to try this. I am curious to see how I will feel having the sleeping pack on my face, and hopefully it won’t be uncomfortable if it absorbs slowly.

Overally, I am still quite happy with this box despite the duplicates. I am happy to have the Elizavecca duplicate, and am alright with the Cotterang duplicate. I am very happy to have everything else that came in the box so I think it is a success! With coupon codes and Meme points, I ended up paying $15 for this box including shipping. This means I only paid about $8 for the box itself. The total retail value (according to Memebox) is a whopping $172 which is crazy! Also, at this point, other than the Innisfree Peeling Gel, I have everything that came in the Wine & Cheese box so they must have had a lot of people cancel their orders of that one.

Memebox Colorbox #6 Pastel Hues

0766f-pastel

Thinking pastel shades are for wallflowers? So cliché. This season, Jordan-almond pastel colours have gone totally badass and totally edgy! Wear these universally flattering pastel perfections on the eyes, lips, and face to brighten up the complexion and add a mouthwatering punch of colour! Depending on how much you layer on, you can go from girl-next-door to full on vamp for a wide range of looks! With a pinkish pout, soft pastel eyes, a simple wash of colour on the face, there’s virtually no room for error! We’ll show you how!

I bought the Colorbox bundle which included the Electric Brights, Jewel Tones, and Pastel Hues all for $30 plus shipping. With a coupon code and a couple of points, it ended up costing me about $32 for the lot. This came out to just under $11 per box which is great. This bundle was also the first Memebox purchase I made, so the shipping date was months from when I ordered it. This is the Pastel Hues box which I liked the sound of. I was hoping there would be a nice light lipstick or something like that.

Let’s see what we have!

Revecen Lip Gloss

Revecen Moisture Shine Lip Gloss 7 ml ($16)

Enriched with olive oil, this Moisture Shine Lip Gloss in sheer pink and orange shades create delicately glittering and plump lips while leaving lips super moist and supply without being sticky at all.

The colour choices for this product were #02 Peach Orange and #11 Apricot Pink. I got #11 Apricot Pink which I was happy about because it is the less orange shade. I have recently gotten the White version of this gloss and it really isn’t sticky at all so that’s nice. I have so many glosses on the go at the moment so this probably won’t be used for awhile.

Revecen Eye Shadow

Revecen Color Eye Shadow 3.1g ($10)

Formulated with various moisturizing minerals. Revecen’s Color eye Shadows are highly adhesive, water-proof, smudge-proof and produce rich pigment payoff with a long-lasting silky touch. To be worn alone or blend in with complimentary shades.

I got the shade B102 Pearl Light Salmon but you could have also gotten B167 Pearl Turquoise. I am glad that I got the pink shade because I wouldn’t know how to wear a pastel turquoise. I tried to swatch this and the lip gloss but neither showed up too well on camera. This is a fairly light pink so it might be a nice base or blending colour.

Revecen Star PowderRevecen Star Powder Swatch

Revecen Perfect Star Powder 3g ($11)

Designed with the perfect mix of colour and shine, the Perfect Star Powder creates dramatic light-catching effects and brings instant sophistication to any makeup look. Layer it on top of contrasting eye shadow colours to create unique multi-dimensional effects, or use it alone for instant elegance!

This is another one that is fairly messy because it is a loose powder. I got the colour #08 Yellow and the other options were #03 Pink, #10 Light Brown, and #14 Ivory. The yellow looked a little intimidating at first but its more of a gold kind of shade so I think it is something I can work with fairly well. I am happy with this product.

Revecen Face Control FoundationRevecen Face Control Foundation Swatch

Revecen Face Control Foundation 17g ($22)

This unique Face Control Foundation works to cover up skin imperfections and light up dull, darkened skin tone for a more refined, evenly balanced, and healthier-looking finish. Plus it contains natural preservatives such as green tea extracts and magnolia extracts, and thus gently and suitable for all skin types.

How to Use: Use a makeup sponge or your finger to apply the hard-type foundation evenly over your face. Make sure to pat it in for full absorbance.

I got the colour #000 Light Yellow but could have also gotten #001 Mint. I am glad I didn’t get the mint because green counteracts redness which isn’t really an issue for me. Yellow is supposed to help with purple colouring and I have terrible hereditary dark circles so I am interested in seeing if this helps hide those at all. I know that the purple version of this product was one of the ones in the Cutiepie Marzia 2 box which everyone hates so much, so I’m surprised they went with this type of product from the same brand again.

Overally, I think that this is the colorbox that stuck the most to the theme they described. I don’t love Revecen as a brand but I will get use out of the products (at least to try) so we will see how it goes. This was the box with the lowest retail value, coming in at $59. I am glad I have gotten Memeboxes since I ordered this because if I was only basing my opinion of them on these boxes, I would be disappointed.
