!!! SPOILERS !!!
If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂
Here is day 8 of our tea advent calendar and I will posting day 9 today as well so we are back on track!
For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:
Coconut and mint might not be a familiar combo, but trust us. It’s seriously addictive. As soon you open your first tin and experience its fresh, sweet-mint aroma, you’ll understand. It’s the kind of tea you always want to have within arm’s reach. It makes a sweet little afternoon pick-me-up. Or a perfect finale to any meal. Or a midnight snack that won’t keep you up all night. Refreshing, creamy, sweet and comforting, it’s everything a tea ought to be.
Ingredients: apple, coconut, sweet blackberry leaves, peppermint, spearmint, natural coconut flavouring
How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 96°C (205°F), 4-7 minutes
I have to be honest, this one was pretty much doomed from the start. Mom doesn’t like any kind of minty drink, let alone minty tea, so we didn’t have high hopes. Without evening opening the tin you could smell how minty it was.
This one looked a little like fruit salad in the tea ball after it had steeped. That’s about all I can say about it at this stage.
This one didn’t really take on much colour as it steeped. It looks a lot like kind of dirty water. Is that rude of me to say? Let’s say no….
Anyways, this one wasn’t really a winner. Mom said she couldn’t really taste the coconut. The primary flavours were the apple and the mint, which as I said before, is not her preferred drink flavour. Unfortunately, this one will be added to the teas that will be finding a new home.
Hopefully our next tea will be more to her taste!
