For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:

Creme Caramel Rooibos

Crème Caramel Rooibos

There are few dessert teas more satisfying than Crème Caramel Rooibos. Smooth, sweet and creamy, it’s a taste sensation. And the best part is it’s made with South African rooibos, which is caffeine-free, nutty and naturally sweet. So indulge in a caramel dream. With virtually no calories, it might be the healthiest thing you do all day.

Ingredients: red rooibos, caramel pieces, natural and artificial flavouring

How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 96°C (205°F), 4-7 minutes

Creme Caramel Rooibos Tea Ball

This one smelled quite nice. Nice and sweet. It didn’t change too much in appearance after it was steeped so that part of it was fairly uneventful.

Creme Caramel Rooibos Steeped

According to mom, this one has a nice, subtle caramel flavour. It is smooth, not overly sweet, and very soothing. She may not buy it again but would have it as an occasiona tea. This is another one that would be great if you love sweet teas, but was less sweet than Bubbie’s Baklava. She did eat it while she ate a Caramilk bar and apparently that brought out the caramel flavour more. This may be the starting point to getting out of the rut we’ve been in.

Today was a fairly good one! Can’t wait to see what we get tomorrow.
