For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:

Buddha's Blend

Buddha’s Blend

We don’t like to brag, but we’re pretty sure we just found the key to achieving nirvana. It’s easier than you might think – you’re actually just a cup away. You start with a fresh, delicate mix of white and green tea. Then you sprinkle in just a few jasmine pearls for their sweet, floral perfume. Next, you add the unexpected fruity aroma of some beautiful white hibiscus blossoms. Finally? You sit back, relax and take a sip. Heavenly…

Ingredients: white tea, green tea, jasmine pearls, white hibiscus blossoms, natural and artificial flavouring

How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 80°C (176°F), 2-3 minutes

Buddha's Blend Tea Ball

This is one of those teas that really amazes us when the tea ball pops open. Every time we get one like this, we say that it has turned into a salad. This tea was one of the 3 samples that we received with our online order so mom had tried this one before. Fortunately, she really liked it the first time so this was a welcome sight for us when we opened todays door.

Buddha's Blend Steeped

Now, as I have said many times before, I’m not a tea drinker. However, if I was, I would drink this one just based on the smell alone. It smells delicious, super fruity and fragrant. Every time that mom has had a cup of this, she has said how refreshing it is! She described it as smooth with a subtle peachy flavour (even though there aren’t any peaches in it). This must be from the hibiscus blossoms that are described as surprisingly fruity. She also thinks that this would probably be nice as an iced tea and since this is already refreshing when it’s hot, she is probably right.

Since she contributes so much (well, pretty much everything) to the David’s Tea portion of my blog, I have finally decided to actually let her read the posts. I know, it’s weird that I wouldn’t before, but here we are. So mom, this is your shout out! Thanks for all the help so far 🙂

Stay tuned tomorrow for Day 16 of the 24 Days of Tea.
