If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂
For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:
Made from premium green tea, our Silk Dragon is a limited-edition treasure. To create it, night-blooming jasmine is gathered in the morning and kept cool all day. In the evening, when the flowers burst open and release their scent, they are placed with the tea until midnight. This is repeated with fresh flowers over the course of five nights, infusing the tea with a most magic flavour. (MK Kosher)
Ingredients: organic Chinese green tea from Jianxi Province, naturally scented with jasmine flowers
How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 80°C (176°F), 2-3 minutes
We had another salad tonight! Absolutely amazing. This tea had such a nice scent to it both in the tin and while it was steeping. I guess it was a floral scent, although without knowing it was floral, I’m not sure if I would have described it this way.
Although this one did smell nice, it wasn’t one of moms favourites. I guess that some teas can leave a sort of filmy feeling in your mouth and this was one of them. Mom said this was a little bit like drinking perfume (not that she has actually drank perfume) because of how floral it was. However, she wasn’t sure if that was because she was smelling it more or if it actually tasted that floral. This will be given away and I’m sure she will find someone who will really like it!
We will see what day 19 brings us tomorrow!
