!!! SPOILERS !!!
If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂
For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:
Lovers of Earl Grey adore this creamy alternative to the original blend. You’ll recognize the same high-quality black tea, the same citrus burst of bergamot oil, the same beautiful grey-blue petals. However this version adds a touch of vanilla, and the result is an unexpectedly rich, creamy taste experience. (MK Kosher)
Ingredients: organic: black tea, cornflowers, marigolds. With natural flavouring
How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 96°C (205°F), 4-7 minutes
In the tin, this one smelled quite aromatic. I wasn’t sure whether mom would be happy about this one or not but she was quite excited because she likes earl grey tea! Most black teas don’t become salad-like but this one sure did! It was nice to see the pretty flowery bits in the tin, it makes it look really pretty!
This one had a really nice black tea colour to it once it was steeped! It didn’t smell as strongly as it did when it was in the tin, but it still smelled nice. Mom said that it had a slight fruity flavour and you could definitely taste the vanilla! At first, mom said that it was a really nice tea, especially for after dinner. She came to me a little while later though to tell me that it is one of her favourite teas that she has had so far from the calendar!
This was definitely a win and I did a little happy dance when she told me that! We are a couple of days behind, because things get busy this time of year. I think mom is kind of interested in the fact that she will have a Christmas day tea so that is still great! Hopefully I will be bringing day 20 to you tomorrow!
