!!! SPOILERS !!!
If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂
For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:
We hope you’re sitting down. Because we’re about to make a pretty bold claim. This might just be the most decadently creamy blend we’ve ever tasted. Seriously. It’s almost crazy how much it tastes like a warm and comforting custard or pudding. It blends sweet apples, golden raisins and honey-scented chamomile with a rich and creamy hint of vanilla. Go ahead, indulge. With this in your cupboard, who needs dessert?
Ingredients: apples, golden raisins, coriander, chamomile, natural and artificial vanilla flavouring.
How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 96°C (205°F), 4-7 minutes
Sorry for the blurry picture on this one, my hands were horribly shaky tonight. This is one of those teas that you can see each individual ingredient in the tin and I love that. Unfortunately, mom took one look at it and said “oh no, there are so many raisins!” She isn’t the biggest fan of raisins. Or apple teas.
This one really didn’t colour the water all that much and you had to get your nose right up close to smell anything. It did have a nice desserty smell. Mom described it as the scent when you walk into Marble Slab and smell the fresh waffle cones being made. I am all for that kind of scent, its delicious. As for the tea, mom said it tasted like vanilla ice cream in a way. This does make sense because ice cream and custard have the same kind of base so that is what they were going for. Unfortunately, it isn’t one of moms favourites and she will be giving it away. She says that if you like really sweet teas than this one may be for you!
Stay tuned tomorrow for day 21!
