!!! SPOILERS !!!
If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂
For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:
Remember the summer you spent in Italy? Sipping espresso on the terrace, catching a ride on the back of a stranger’s Vespa, and of course, trying your first taste of tart, creamy lime gelato. With its fresh, fruity aroma and smooth flavour, this deliciously creamy mix of fruit and green tea will bring you right back. Try it iced. On a terrace. While the moon hits your eye.
Ingredients: apple, Sencha green tea, pineapple, lemongrass, artificial creamy lime yogurt flavouring.
How to Prepare: 1.25 tsp, 85°C (185°F), 3-4 minutes
This was one that I was worried about. I didn’t think lime in a tea would be interesting to mom so I was definitely concerned. However, as soon as she opened the door, she seemed quite excited! This tea smelled quite nice in the tin and puffed up to be a nice little salad.
As soon as this tea had been steeped, you could smell the lime so much more! It smelled really yummy. Mom seemed to really like this one! She said it really did taste like you were having a lime gelato which is neat. I would be interested in seeing if this was any good as an iced tea like the company suggested. This is one that mom is going to keep for herself. We keep track on a David’s Tea menu of the teas that she would purchase again or not and this one received a yes! Very successful. We are still 2 days behind, so we have 3 teas left. The ones that are left are the 3 holiday teas for this year so I am interested to see what she thinks of those!
See you tomorrow for day 22!
