If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. The prices vary depending on the type of box that you get and can range from $15-$80 I believe. Most of the regular boxes are $23 and then you also have to pay $6.99 shipping for each box. You have to keep an eye on the shipping dates for each box because it can be months away, that way you aren’t frustrated wondering why the shipping takes so long. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.
I bought the Colorbox bundle which included the Electric Brights, Jewel Tones, and Pastel Hues all for $30 plus shipping. With a coupon code and a couple of points, it ended up costing me about $32 for the lot. This came out to just under $11 per box which is great. This bundle was also the first Memebox purchase I made, so the shipping date was months from when I ordered it. This is the Electric Brights box which I didn’t really care about having but it was 3 for the price of 2 so it would have been silly not to get the bundle.
Let’s see what we got!
Vivito Vivace Color Cream Jazz Coral 6g ($32)
This multi-pigment cream comes in a variety of different colours ranging from gold, purple, emerald green, white and pink to this deep cobalt blue, which can be used as an eyeliner, a shadow, and a lip colour all in one. The beautiful blue pigment glides smoothly onto skin with a silky texture, completely waterproof and smudge-proof, and shimmering with subtle pearls and vibrant vividness.
Now, one thing I have to say about this colour is that I can’t imagine ever wearing it on my lips. Maybe I’m just not bold enough for that sort of thing. Anyways, I’m not sure how I feel about this. I don’t typically wear blues on my eyes, mostly because when I do, it doesn’t turn out so well. This has a kind of lip balm-ish texture which is nice and smooth but I would be worried about creasing or the product just rubbing off. The swatch above is about 4 layers of the product so it does take a bit to build it up and it is a tad uneven. I have been pretty happy with Vivito products so far though so I may play around with this.
Vivito Vivace Color Cream Funky Rock Pink 6g ($32)
Again, one of the Vivace Color Creams in a lovely Funky Rock Pink. This lovely pink colour is also a multi-player and can be used as an eye shadow, a blusher and a lip colour. The creamy pink pigment glides smoothly onto skin with a silky texture, completely waterproof and smudge-proof, and shimmering with subtly pearls and vibrant vivdness.
This is the same kind of product as the blue shadow but this is a much more manageable colour! It is a pretty pink but it takes a lot to build it up. Just like the blue shade, the swatch above was 4 or more layers so it isn’t super pigmented. This one I can see being used as a lip and cheek product as well so that is nice! It has the same lip balm-ish texture (not sticky) but I look forward to trying it.
Vivito Blues Shiny Primer 30 ml ($34)
This Blues Shiny Primer coats over skin with a velvet-like veil which preps skin with both moisture boost and natural coverage needed to create the perfectly dewy, radiant complexion. It also firms the skin and enhances the lasting power of makeup to follow.
This is a duplicate for me because this same primer came in the Tinkerbell box. I haven’t started using the first one yet because I am using a different Vivito primer that came in one of the Thanksgiving boxes. I may pass this on if I find someone that wants it because I can only use primer so quickly.
Vivito White Angel Chorus Beam 30 ml ($34)
This White Angel Chorus Beam is your ultimate makeup base for dry, dull skin – containing shimmering pearls for extra-refined glamour and elegance as well as youthful suppleness. It colour-corrects and uneven complexion, and will also match your skin colour perfectly when used together with your favourite foundation or BB cream.
How to Use: Apply alone before foundation as a makeup base, or blend it in with foundation or BB cream in a 1:2 ration. Best Before October 28th 2015.
Another primer? I’m a little confused as to why they would put 2 primers in the same box. Not only that, but this one expires in 10 months which isn’t great. I will have to use this primer next since it expires so soon.
Overall I am a little disappointed in this box. I’m not saying that I wanted neon colours, but there were only 2 coloured products in the box. Half of the products only go under your makeup. I think they kind of abandoned their own theme for this one so that’s a bit sad. I have liked Vivito products though so maybe it will be alright. The overall retail value of this box was $132, although I do think that is inflated a bit. Stay tuned to see what was in the other colorboxes!
