If you do not want to know the types of tea or order that the teas come up in this advent calendar than don’t read any further 🙂
For those of you who don’t know, this is a loose leaf tea advent calendar made by the Canadian tea company, David’s Tea. Each day has a different tea flavour that comes in a little tin and can make about 2-3 cups of tea per day. It is my mom who drinks the tea so these will be her opinions about the tea itself. Let’s see what we had today:
Falling snow, popping chestnuts, cold hands and noses…yep, winter has arrived. But don’t worry, we have the perfect tea to warm you up all December long. Cinnamon, apples, raisins, almonds, and hibiscus combine for a tea that is sweet, tart, and earthy. And beet pieces make it as nice and rosy as a caroler’s cheeks. So hop in your sleigh, snuggle up, and pass a thermos around. It’s lovely weather for a Sleigh Ride together.
Ingredients: apple, hibiscus blossoms, pineapple, papaya, beetroot, cinnamon, raisins, coconut, roasted almonds, popped rice, artificial flavouring.
How to Prepare: 2 tsp, 98°C (208°F), 5-7 minutes
In the tin, this tea smelled quite sweet. Personally, I thought it smelled quite good but mom didn’t love the smell of it which usually means she won’t like the taste of it. I was a little worried because this tea had apples and raisins which she isn’t a fan of as primary tastes in a tea. It did have beetroot though which makes her happy because the tea ends up being bright pink!
According to mom, this tea has a sweet apply cider kind of taste. She says it did have a nice flavour and it would probably be a good tea to sip while hanging out by the fire. Although it is a sweet taste, it doesn’t taste as sweet as it smelled like it was. This means she broke her own rule in liking the taste when she didn’t like the smell too much! This is one that she is going to keep the tin for herself and will finish but isn’t sure yet if she would buy it or not. Overall, a better result than I was expecting!
Sorry to be so far behind on these posts. It gets a little hectic with Christmas time and having company over! Hopefully we are back on track because we only have 2 teas left after this one. See you next time so we can pretend that it is still December 23!
