Fortune Cookie Soap ’50 Shades of Soap’ Mini Collection

50 Shades of Soap Collection

Eek I was so excited to get this package in the mail! This is Fortune Cookie Soaps Valentines Day collection that is based on 50 Shades of Grey. Now, I never read 50 Shades, I don’t plan on it either. It just isn’t my kind of book, I prefer more of the Stephen King type of genre which obviously differs. However, I do love FCS and the scents in this collection sounded nice so I wanted it anyways. There were a lot of florals with some fruits mixed in which I like so very exciting!

Bitten Lip Scrub

“Bitten” Lip Scrub

“I’d like to bite that lip.” Yea , Christian…we’d like that, too! Spicy warm cinnamon and cool mint…delish!

I love the colour of this lip scrub! It’s so pretty. I tried this one out and it tastes really yummy (even though it’s not just meant to be eaten). It tastes like cinnamon without any of the spiciness. It does discolour the skin around your lips to a pinkish colour so if you get this, wipe or lick it off relatively quickly. These lip scrubs last me forever and soon I will have a third one in my collection so I’m set for awhile!

Hard Limit Massage Bar

“Hard Limit” Massage Bar

What makes you scream, “RED!”? Juicy red apples and lime accentuate the femininity of a fresh-cut bouquet of jasmine, lilies, roses, and violets, all warmed with fresh oriental tea leaves and rounded out with base notes of soft musk.

Now, I haven’t had a massage bar from FCS before but I am thinking that it is essentially a larger hydrate me which is great. I really like the scent of this one. I’m not great at picking out scents so it is hard for me to say which particular scents I am picking up on. It is definitely a mix of fruit and floral, there isn’t one “category” that I pick up more than the other. It has a nice low melting point so be careful if you are just holding onto it because it will start to melt in your hands.

Inner Goddess Whipped Cream

“Inner Goddess” Whipped Cream

Soft, feminine, and powerful…everything your inner goddess should be. Sweet violet and hints of iris and white florals mingle perfectly with vine-ripened watermelon, juicy fresh apricot and the perfect amount of wild berries.

I really like this whipped cream, it reminds me of Bloom Bloom Room (at least the version that I have in a CYO OCD hand sanitizer). It is very floral and I don’t get too much of the fruit. This lotion is supposed to come with a layer of glitter on top so that’s a heads up for those of you who don’t like glitter. Fortunately, mine had only one tiny spot with glitter on it which is okay with me. I don’t particularly want to be coated in glitter so this worked out better for me.

Later, Baby FCSLaters, Baby Fortune

“Laters, Baby” Fortune Cookie Soap

Just your typical farewell after a steamy romantic encounter…no big deal. Sweet, creamy coconut, salted caramel, warm brown sugar and vanilla with just the right amount of exotic musk and cayenne pepper.

I love the smell of this soap! A lot of people said it smelled like popcorn to them but I definitely get the coconut and caramel. It is a very sweet scent and it smells delicious! I am excited to use this one.

Pleasure Bath Bombs

“Pleasure” Bath Bombs

You want me to put what??? Where??? (just kidding! Do NOT use these internally!) Indulgent caramel drenched wild strawberries with a hint of sugared musk.

I love the smell of these bath bombs! They definitely smell very similar to It’s Showtime from the 2014 Halloween collection. The strawberry comes out as the main scent and I love it! These are absolutely coated in glitter, just as a heads up. I haven’t used these yet so I’m not sure what kind of mess the glitter will make in the tub. I know that when I used the There’s No Place Like Home bath bomb sample, I found glitter on myself for days so I assume it will be just like that.

Red Room Body Wash

“The Red Room” Body Wash

Christian Grey in jeans, and nowhere to run. What else is there to say? Seductive notes of sensual amber, musk, and vanilla with juicy tart berries, hints of warm sandalwood and fluffy sweet marshmallows.

This is my first body wash from Fortune Cookie Soap and I quite enjoy it. The lather on this is nice although the scent is subtle. It isn’t my favourite scent in the collection, I have to say. That’s not to say that I don’t like it, I just prefer other scents to this one. I was hoping that this would just smell like berry and marshmallows but I definitely smell the amber and musk for the most part. It is nice though.

Twitchy Palm OCDTwitchy Palm OCD Back

“Twitchy Palm” OCD Hand Sanitizer

You know… we make a cream for that… A dreamy blend of soft pink petals, juicy watermelon, bright lemon, creamy blonde woods, and vanilla bean chiffon, rounded out with hints of sweet southern sugar.

I LOVE the smell of this hand sanitizer. It might be one of my favourite hand sanitizers from FCS that I have tried so far. The watermelon and lemon are the scents that I pick out the most. This one is another product that is packed full of glitter. However, when you actually rub it in, there isn’t a detectable glitter on your hands (thank goodness!). I have more hand sanitizer than I know what to do with but I am still excited about this one.

Vanilla Linen Spray

“Vanilla” Linen Spray

Say my name! Wait…who’s Steve? As far from traditional vanilla as you can get, we’ve blended your favourite bean with Sicilian lemon and orange zest, bright verbena, heady sweet jasmine, and just a touch of amber, musk, woods, and creamy heliotrope.

I am glad that they have linen sprays. Before this, I was using their personal space sprays on my pillow right before bed every night. I conveniently finished my last bottle the night before this package came so that was awesome. This is a very subtle scent. I had read in the Facebook fan page for FCS that some people weren’t picking up a scent at all. I can smell it a little bit but it’s only when I shove my face right into the pillow. It’s the citrus that I get the most which I am happy about because I didn’t want this to be too musky. As another side note, this came in a frosted glass bottle that is beautiful! I am impressed with the new packaging!

I am really happy with this collection! Even though the theme does nothing for me, I am happy with the products and the scents. I haven’t been disappointed by FCS yet and I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Coming up next is their “Winter Has Come” collection which is based on Game of Thrones. I have already ordered this and I am so excited to receive it!

Memebox Boxing Day Special #1

Boxing Day 1

We know Boxing Day doesn’t officially start until after Christmas, but we couldn’t wait to give our Memebox fans an early K-Beauty treat! Rev up your beauty for the upcoming holidays, and prep for the new year with the first of a series of Boxing Day Special Boxes. Here, you’ll find a collection of our top K-Beauty selects, proven to be the best time and time again, so that you can be your most beautiful you NOW!

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. The prices vary depending on the type of box that you get and can range from $15-$80 I believe. Most of the regular boxes are $23 and then you also have to pay $6.99 shipping for each box. You have to keep an eye on the shipping dates for each box because it can be months away, that way you aren’t frustrated wondering why the shipping takes so long. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

I didn’t have any particular reason for wanting this box, perhaps it was just fear of missing out. Regardless, I bought it, so let’s see what we have here!

Boxing Day 1 Box

Dr G BB

Dr.G Actifirm Recovery Super Blemish Base SPF30 PA++ 45 ml ($46)

This smart, 3-in-one BB cream protects against harmful UV rays while brightening up uneven skin tone and filling in fine lines and wrinkles to reveal firmer, heallthier-looking complexion. Its gentle formula is free of skin-damaging ingredients such as benzophenone and alcohol and it glides smoothly on, creating a thin coat over the skin with high coverage and lasting power.

How to Use: Apply evenly over clean, moisturized face. Pat it in several times with your hands for stronger staying power.

After today, I have an insane amount of BB and CC creams lying around. I really do need to start using them more often. This is one that doesn’t have a specific shade listed on it so I am assuming it is the smart kind that matches to your skin tone. I hope it is at least, or who knows what my face will end up looking like. With the price tag on this one being as high as it is, I hope that it delivers on the promises it makes! I will definitely be trying this out once I make more of a dent in my already opened BB creams.

Curling Essence 2X

Mise En Scene Curling Essence 2X 150 ml ($14)

Enriched with argan oil and cedar wood oil, this two-in-one hair essence provides deep nutrition and helps define your curls all at once. It will instantly make your sagging curls bounce with luster and elasticity.

How to Use: Apply the essence on semi-wet hair, and style your curls with your hands.

I am interested to see how this product works! At the moment, I have passed it along to my mom who has really curly hair and wears it curly every day. She has been having some trouble with it lately because she is trying to grow it out and finds that her usual products aren’t doing as much as they did when it was shorter. I hope that this works really well for her! If it does, I may have to try it on my own hair. Mine is kind of a weird in between curly and straight, but not in a good way. It kind of does a semi-wavy thing that is hard to style without actually straightening or curling it. If it works out super well, maybe mine will curl a little bit on its own without me having to break out the curling wand!

Hair+ Nutri-Injection

Hair+ Velvet Nutri-Injection 12 ml ($5)

For all those damaged hairs out there, the Velvet Nutri-Injection is here to save the day! Simply apply it throughout your hair, especially the damaged ends, after towel drying, and experience results of a hair clinic program!

How to Use: Squeeze out the treatment and massage it into your hair thoroughly.

I have been loving hair treatments lately because I am trying to grow my hair out some more and I find the ends are just in need of some extra TLC. I guess that this is kind of like a leave in conditioner sort of thing which for some reason always makes me feel like my hair will be weighed down. We will see if it works any miracles on my hair.

Zonskin Scalp Essence

Zonskin Special Scalp Essence 20 ml ($12)

An organic scalp essence formulated by Zonskin, a well-known hair clinic in Korea specializing in scalp care and hair loss prevention. This essence works to strengthen hair and scalp by effectively clearing away excessive sebum and dead skin cells. It can be applied on both wet and dried scalp.

How to Use: Spray the essence close to scalp. Pat it on with your fingers for full absorbance.

This is another product that I think is a little bit strange. I guess that aside from using shampoo, the scalp is a body part that we tend to forget about. I don’t have any problems with dandruff or anything like that but I suppose that getting rid of excessive sebum may help prevent my hair from getting oily too fast. I think that I will use this when my hair is still wet so that I don’t just have a strangely wet top of my head.

Beauty People Eyeliner

Beauty People Eyeliner Swatch

Beauty People Miss 100 auto Gel Pencil Liner 0.5g ($38)

Feature a sophisticated point eye makeup with Beauty People’s gel liner pencils that come in 3 delicate pearl shades – coral, bronze, and brown – and can be used as both a liner and a shadow. They’re auto-type liners that easily glides onto your eyelids, making them easy to use for even makeup beginners. Plus, there’s an eye liner sharpener attached on the other end for convenience.

This eyeliner came in three possible colours: Glimmer Brown, Glimmer Bronze, and Glimmer Coral. I got Glimmer Brown which I was a little disappointed about at first but then I realized that it is the most wearable colour out of the three so at least there is that. I was actually so excited to see a Beauty People liner in my box because I had always seen the Beauty People sets of about 5 eyeliners that had come in previous Memeboxes. I had always been a little bit sad that I didn’t get to try it. This eyeliner is very pigmented and doesn’t budge once it has set. I hope that this is awesome because I have yet to find my holy grail brown eyeliner. Maybe this will be it!

Ginkgo Cleansing Cream

Charmzone Ginkgo Natural Foam Cleansing Cream 150g ($16)

Charmzone’s Ginkgo Natural Foam Cleansing Cream contains 1500 mg of ginkgo leaf extracts and other natural skin-perfecting ingredients to soften skin while gently removing makeup. An essential step in your daily skincare regiment to transform skin to a soft, healthy state, this phenomenal cleansing cream contains high concentrations of antioxidants and nourishments to condition skin for softness and greater absorbency of skincare products that follow. The velvety texture also allows a perfect glide to massage the skin and the facial muscles, supporting natural circulation.

Last in this box is a cleansing cream that promises a lot in terms of what it will do for your skin. Cleansers are always something that I will use, and may never need to buy again at the rate I am getting them from Memebox. This has a later expiry date so I probably won’t get to it for awhile but I am excited to try it!

Alright, let’s talk about my overall impression of this box. Firstly, I paid $27 for this box and the suggested retail value of the products is $131. That part is great! I am actually fairly happy with this box. There were a lot of hair products in the box, and before today I hadn’t received any hair products from Memebox. I have heard nice things about the hair products they have included in the past so I hope that these live up to that. I think that many people would enjoy this box and I am happy that I purchased it!

Beauty Joy Box December 2014

This is my December 2014 Beauty Joy Box and it is the second month of boxes for this company. The cost of this box is $15 a month with free shipping within the US. There is an extra $5 shipping fee to Canada and $10 to ship internationally. Each box ships on the 15th of the month so for those of us in Canada, that means receiving it relatively late in the month (November 24 for this particular month). Each box comes with 1 jewelry item, 1 full sized beauty item and 2-3 deluxe sized samples.

I was really impressed with the November 2014 box, so let’s see what I thought about this month!

December 2014 Box

December 2014 Box OpenJust like last month, I am so impressed with the way that they have packaged their box. They seem to take a lot of time to make sure it looks classy and well wrapped. I love it!

December 2014 Box Inside

Personalized Necklace

Copper, Brass, and Bronze Personalized Necklace ($12)

These necklaces are individually hand-stamped and made with care just for you!

Beauty Joy posted on Facebook maybe a month to a month and a half ago saying that they were sending out personalized jewelry. They asked everyone to email them with the letter that you would like them to use for the jewelry. I thought it was really great of them to put in so much work organizing individual letters for each person. I of course got an A for mine and it is stamped on the little copper disc. I really like this necklace, I think is so cute! I love the older metal look of this. I can be a little picky with jewelry and I have liked the pieces they have sent both months!

PopBeauty StainPopBeauty Stain Swatch

PopBeauty Stain Stay ($16)

A Hydra-light stain that is packed with colour in a no-smudge, no-budge formula that provides effortless flawless lips!

I’m not sure if these were randomly selected colours or not because it doesn’t say anything about the particular colour on the card. I got this lip colour in Brick Beauty and I think it is nice. Reds are nice during the colder months and I am interested to see what this looks like on. I was already wearing a pretty bright lip colour so I haven’t been able to wear it on my lips yet. Applying it to my hand did feel a little bit like I was using a marker but it’s nice. I think you may need to use a clear liner for this one though to prevent feathering. I’m happy with this!

Sephora EyelinerSephora Eyeliner Swatch

Sephora Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner ($13)

Budge-resistant black matte colour with a touch of silver sparkle, in an easy-glide, creamy texture formula. With a built in sharpener and smudge tip, this liner is your all-in-one must-have!

I was thrilled to see a Sephora product in here! I have never used any Sephora brand eyeliners before so I am excited to give this a try. When swatching it on my hand, it felt very creamy and the glitter isn’t too overwhelming which is nice! You notice the glitter more when you smudge it out so just keep that in mind!

Burt's Bees Lotion

Burt’s Bees Milk and Honey Body Lotion ($1.50)

Milk, Honey, and Vitamin E, designed to soften your skin and is clinically proven to moisturize for up to 24 hours.

The only thing I have tried from Burt’s Bees is their lip balm but I have considered buying other products from them before. This 1 oz. tube is definitely enough to get a feel for whether you like the product or not. It says its a body lotion but I may use it as a hand lotion instead. The smell is quite nice and subtle, and I am very happy with this as well.

CeraVe Moisturizer

CeraVe Facial Moisturizer (free)

CeraVe products are non-irritating, non-comedogenic, and fragrance-free.

I appreciate that Beauty Joy tells you this is free. Some subscription companies will try and pass free samples off as valuable products. This really demonstrates Beauty Joy’s honesty. I do have a ton of creams to use up at the moment so I may pass this along, but I have not decided about that yet.

I paid $20 for this box (including shipping) and received products valued at $42.50. They are all products that I will use, or at least pass on to someone in the case of the moisturizer. I am so very happy with this box again and can’t wait to see what they include for January!

If you are interested in this service and want to check them out, you can find their website at www.beautyjoybox.com or their facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BeautyJoyBox

Memebox Colorbox #5 Jewel Tones

b49ba-jewel

Whether you consider yourself fair, medium, olive, dark, or anywhere in between, this box full of rich, saturated jewel hued goodies that are universally flattering and will look good on virtually anyone! Think dark wine reds, deep purples, gorgeous emeralds, and more decadent jewel tones – this beauty box will satisfy your every chromatic whim. Sneak some of these precious stone tones into your fall season makeup and beauty for your chicest look ever!

Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

I bought the Colorbox bundle which included the Electric Brights, Jewel Tones, and Pastel Hues all for $30 plus shipping. With a coupon code and a couple of points, it ended up costing me about $32 for the lot. This came out to just under $11 per box which is great. This bundle was also the first Memebox purchase I made, so the shipping date was months from when I ordered it. This is the Jewel Tones box which I thought sounded absolutely wonderful! The colours they described for the box sounded beautiful so I was excited about this one!

Let’s see what we got!

Color World Lip MousseColor World Lip Mousse Swatch

Color World Multi Lovely Finger Mousse Lip 704 So Hot Pink 1ea ($20)

This lip mousse is a combination of lipstick, lip gloss, and lip tint. It glides onto lips with a rich pigment payoff and a smooth, non-sticky finish.

I think that the colour of this is quite lovely, and even though I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as jewel toned, it is the most jewel toned thing in the box which makes me sad. This is a bit tricky to work with so I might need some practice. The texture of this is definitely mousse-like which is so strange but it feels so soft. The thing that I found is it gets all over your teeth, it comes off on everything, and it streaks from your lips so quickly. I’m not sure if I should be letting this set for a few minutes before I move my mouth but it was a bit of a mess.

Color World Star PowderColor World Star Powder Swatch

Color World Star Powder 10g ($14)

Designed with the perfect mix of glitter and shine, Star Powder in Sparkle White creates a dramatic light-catching effect and brings instant sophistication to any makeup look. It coats over skin for a velvety smooth texture, sparkling with glowing elegance. Use it as a highlight, an eye shadow, or a facial & body glitter powder.

I can honestly say I have never felt the need to use a facial glitter powder. I got the shade 05 Violet but could have also gotten 01 White or 06 White Green. I think I am glad that I got the violet colour because I already have a white and I’m not sure how white green would look. I think this is a nice winter/holiday kind of colour but I’m not sure if it works year round. There also isn’t any kind of filter for this so it can be quite messy with so much loose powder.

Color World Lip GlossColor World Lip Gloss Swatch

Color World Kiss The Beads Lip Gloss 13 ml ($18)

A classic lip gloss that gives an intense shine and moisture from a blend of ceramide, natural essential oil, coenzyme Q10, and squalane. Despite its glossy visual, it’s non-sticky, long-lasting, and lightweight.

I’m going to be honest. I already hate this lip gloss. I’m not the biggest lip gloss fan in general but this one is bad. This was randomly selected from 02 Red Gemstone and 03 Red Gemstone. How confusing is that…Anyways, I got 02 Red Gemstone which is the one that looks more red than pink. If you look at the swatch above, beside the lip mousse, it is hardly pigmented at all. Not only that, it was so sticky. As soon as I swatched it, I was appalled at how sticky it was. I don’t see myself using this one.

Color World Stick ShadowColor World Stick Shadow Swatch

Color World Jewelish Stick Shadow 09 Crystal Silver 10g ($13)

Color World’s Jewelish Stick Shadow features beautiful shades with a creamy formula to provide an endless spectrum for creating flawless bold eye makeup. Each convenient stick is long-wearing, transfer proof, and crease-resistant. The colour glides on smoothly onto lids and blends easily for a rich pigment payoff.

I actually do like the colour of this (bottom/left swatch seen above). It is a nice silver and could look really nice this time of year with the cold weather and the holidays. It did glide on smoothly so I would like to see how it lasts on the eyes. Not a bad product.

Overall I am disappointed with this. The jewel tones they described for this box were rich, deep, and beautiful sounding. They decided to go with more white-ish crystal type jewel tones which I don’t prefer at all. I love lip products and the mousse I’m not sure about and the gloss won’t be used. Overall I’m not thrilled. The retail value for this box is only about $65. Stay tuned for the Pastel Hues box.

Memebox Christmas Collection #2 My Holiday Glam

Christmas Collection 2

Tis the season for gorgeous! Sparkle just as brightly as the holiday lights with festive K-Beauty glitz and glam! Whether you prefer subtle shine or want to rock full-blown fab, there’s a gorgeous holiday party look waiting for you in this box! With this festive K-Beauty holiday makeup essentials box, you’ll be able to step outside the traditional party look and pull together a perfect party look. Don’t miss out on this coolest, most luxurious collection – perfect to give, love, or hoard for yourself!

Out of the two boxes in the Christmas bundle, this was the one that I was more excited about. I have a problem where I tend to hoard makeup and it takes me forever to get through because I have too many products to use. I love it though! One worry was that this would be too glittery just because it was a holiday box.

Christmas 2 Box

Christmas 2 Card FrontChristmas 2 Card Back

Okay, let’s see what items came in this Memebox!

Peripera Jewel PotPeripera Jewel Pot Swatch

Peripera Wholly Deep Jewel Pot #6 Burgundy 3g ($29)

Glam up your eyes with multi-angle jewel glitters that contain real diamond and amethyst powders for extra radiant, sparkling holiday season! Fool-proof pearly eye pigments last all day and all night! Channel your inner Beauty Queen in no time!

How to Use: Take out an adequate amount on its lid and use your fingers to apply it onto your eyelids. Do not throw away the inner lid as it’s needed to keep the formula moist and intact.

Of course the first thing I did when I opened this was throw away the inner lid. Then I decided to read the card and had to take it back out. The colour of this eye shadow is beautiful! I think it will be perfect for holiday parties and I can’t wait to actually try it out! It does have glitter in it so I hope the fallout from this isn’t too bad because I really do like it! Also, $29 for an eye shadow?! Ahhhhh…I can’t see myself actually paying that much for a single shadow but Memebox does tend to inflate their prices. However, if there are actual diamond and amethyst powders in this than maybe the price is justified.

Deoproce BB CreamDeoproce BB Cream Swatch

Deoproce White Flower B.B Cream SPF35 PA+++ 30g ($12)

Enriched with a blend of lotus, lily, and peony extracts, Deoproce’s White Flower B.B Cream combines the moisturizing and protective powers of a skincare product with the complexion-perfecting and tone balancing properties of a foundation. Its featherweight texture smoothly coats over skin with long-lasting adherence, leaving the skin velvety soft and glowing with youthful radiance.

The two colours that you could have gotten were #21 Natural Beige and #23 Sand Beige. I got #21 which I am pretty happy about because I am pretty pale and Sand Beige sounds like it could be too dark for my skin tone. I have only tested this on my hand but it seems like it blends out pretty well. I am hoping that it blends well on my face and provides an alright coverage (not that I need a ton of coverage but it is nice to have a little bit).

Vivito Painting Jelly TintVivito Painting Jelly Tint Swatch

Vivito Painting Jelly Tint RD02 Squeeze Cherry 5.5g ($29)

A moisturizing jelly-type tint with a water gel formula enriched with pomegranate, mulberry, fig, and Vitamin E. It smoothly melts onto dry, colourless lips for instant hydration, rejuvenation, and long-lasting colour radiance.

How to Use: Apply 2-3 drops on the center of lips and blend it outwards for natural gradiation, or layer it on multiple times to create the full lip look.

This product was a little confusing and I know that others had the same confusion. The card says that this colour is supposed to be RD02 Squeeze Cherry but the sticker on the actual box says it is RD01 Squeeze Berry. Not only that, but the picture on the card looks like it should be a berry colour but then the one we received looks like a cherry red. So I’m not sure which one we were actually supposed to get. I feel like I would have preferred the berry.

In terms of wearing this, I feel like I need some practice with it. When I swatched it on my hand, there was a small patch that stayed tinted after I had washed it off. However, when I put it on my lips, it seeped into my mouth (and tasted horrendous!) and didn’t really colour all my lips that well. This was probably user error so I would like to see how it can really perform.

The Mirror

Cool Enough Studio The Mirror 1 ea ($15)

Still bringing around a bit fat mirror? Cool Enough Studio presents ‘The Mirror’ – the thinnest, most stylishly designed mirror for ladies to carry it around with them to glamorous holiday & year-end parties in their pretty purses.

I do think that this is a neat idea, and I love that it comes with a little pouch to protect it somewhat while it’s in your purse. The shape of this is a little bit awkward. I think I would prefer something that is more square so I can see more than a tiny part of my face at a time. Also, I’m not sure why all four sides are mirrored, unless you and a friend want to check yourselves out at the same time. Not bad though, I will probably throw this into my work bag.

   Dearberry EyelinerDearberry Eyeliner Swatch

Dearberry Rockcat Girl Waterproof Pencil Liner Purple 7g ($5)

Dearberry Rockcat Girl Eyeliner provides budge-resistant radiance in sophisticated deep purple with an easy-glide, creamy texture. Definitely a must-have for a refined, chic holiday makeup fit for any and all occasions!

This purple is more of a charcoal grey kind of colour with a purple tint which I am really happy about! I am more comfortable wearing black eyeliners so I feel like this is a nice way to ease into coloured liners. Also, since my eyes are brown, purple tends to complement that very well. This definitely is waterproof, at least when it is swatched on my hand. I had to use make up remover to get it off so I hope that it will be as resilient when it’s on my eyelids. Excited to try this out!

Eclipse Nail Polish

Eclipse Poppy Red & Fresh Green 15ml x 2ea ($7)

Go festive with Eclipse’s holiday red & green nail colours – vibrant and long-lasting in radiance and easy to apply and quick to try in formula!

I really do love nail polish so I am happy they included some festive colours in this box. I think that next week I will use both of these colours to have some nice Christmas nails. I am hoping that these actually are long-lasting because I really don’t like nail polish that is is quick to chip.

For me this is a pretty good box! I think that they did a good job of sticking to the festive, holiday theme which is what I was hoping they would do. I payed about $23 for this box including shipping and the total retail value (according to Memebox) is $97. Definitely a good box for me!

Memebox Princess Edition #5 Tinkerbell

84178-tink

We’re spellbound by the prettiest pixie, Tinkerbell! Add a touch of glitter to eyes and lips for an understated, yet beautiful eye-catching shine, or go all out and amp up the intensity with sparkle flecked shimmers! You choose! Follow the fairy trent and highlight and illuminate your body and face (minus the excessive shine!) with pearl-based luminizers that give you an enchanting glow! Shimmer and glitter in makeup can be overwhelming, but with the help of our fabulous Memeboxers and Tink herself, we created this Tinkerbell box for all day, everyday wear!

When I originally read the description of this box, I did not plan on purchasing it. The thought of glitter everywhere seemed awful to me. As I re-read it though, I thought that it might be more focused on highlights and at the time I didn’t own any so I decided to pick this one up! This box was $29 plus $6.99 shipping and it was shipped via snail mail since it wasn’t in a bundle. However, the standard shipping time is 10-20 business days and mine came in 11 so I really can’t complain!

Sorry about the terrible pictures, I really need to figure out a better lighting/camera situation.

Okay, let’s see what was in this box!

admin-ajax (3)admin-ajax (4) admin-ajax (5)

Body-Net Clavi-S Cream 10 g ($8)

A body cream made from a blend of felicately sophisticated and enchanting ivory and gold pearls. Apply it over your neck/collarbone area like Korean actresses do to glamorize their dress-look on the red carpet. The cabbage rose water and allantoin formula leaves skin feeling soft, smooth, and firm as well.

I have mixed feelings about this product. First of all, I don’t really have any kind of occasion where I feel like this would be appropriate (at least in the near future). I don’t get nearly dressy enough to need to shimmer up my cleavage. However, the way that this sheers out to a subtle shimmer is very nice. I was afraid that it would colour the skin as well as add glitter but it adds a nice sheen. If i do end up going to any fancier events, I will have to remember to give this a try!

       admin-ajax (6)admin-ajax (7)

Rire Pigment 2.5g ($12)

Add instant color sophistication and light-catching shimmer to any makeup look by layering Rire Pigment on top of contrasting eye shadow colors to create a unique multi-dimensional effect, or use it alone for shimmering elegance!

This pigment was randomly chosen from 02 Gold Clutch or 03 Peach Peach and I received 03 Peach Peach. I am quite happy about this because it looks to be the lighter of the colours (as long as it’s the one I think it is in the picture. Before this I did not own any pigments so I was glad to get this. It is not nearly as glittery on the eye as I thought it would be and I am thankful for that! However, there is quite a bit of fallout with the glitter while wearing it so that isn’t the best.

       admin-ajax (8)admin-ajax (9)

Vivito Blues Shiny Primer 30 ml ($34)

A shimmering fluid primer perfect for smoothing out uneven skin texture and adding that extra gleaming radiance to the complexion. Coat a thin veil of fine pearls and velvety softness to prep the skin and boost makeup adherence as well.

I am happy to have this primer since it is a product I always use. I did just get a primer in my Thanksgiving box so this one will be put away until I have used that one up. I have to say, I am super impressed with the pumps that these Korean primers are coming with, they are so nice to use! This particular primer does feel very light and a little bit will probably go a long way. I look forward to trying it!

           admin-ajax (10)admin-ajax (11)

Revecen Moisture Shine Lip Gloss 7ml ($16)

Enriched with olive oil, this Moisture Shine Lip Gloss in glittering white and beige creates a colorless yet delicately glittering and plump lips while leaving lips super moist and supple without being sticky at all.

This was randomly selected from 01 White and 13 Sandy Beige, I got the white gloss. I was disappointed by this at first because I did not think that white would work so well. I was happy after I put it on though because it ends up being clear. In the bottle, it looks like it is jam packed full of glitter but on the lips it looks more glossy than glittery which I am happy about. I am not a huge fan of lip gloss because I don’t find it wears all that well but they are right when they say this is not sticky at all! I really like this formula and am happy to have it!

                              admin-ajax (12)admin-ajax (13)

Tonymoly Crystal Tear Glitter Eyeliner #01 White 5ml ($7)

Add extra sparkling glitters just under your eyes (which we call ‘tear line” in Korea) to create a sophisticated yet dewy eye makeup. Tonymoly’s Crystal Tear Glitter Eyeliner comes in a pearl white and it contains panthenol complex for moisturizing and conditioning both your lashes and skin.

This is not a product that I can see myself reaching for all that often. I tried it when I first opened the box and although it is pretty, it is much more glittery than I can pull off on a daily basis. I did try this on the inner corner of my eye and think it is a little too much so I may need to play around with this to figure out how it can best work for me.

     admin-ajax (14)admin-ajax (15)

Mizon Oh! Shy Glow On Shimmer Light 8ml ($14)

A radiance-boosting liquid highlight in a natural peach coral shade. Oh! Shy Glow On Shimmer Light easily blend onto face for a naturally glowing and shimmery skin!

I am happy to get this since the prospect of highlighters was the reason I got this box. I did just get a highlight in one of the Thanksgiving boxes but that one was a gold highlight and this is a pink toned highlight so I am happy they are different, I will definitely use this! This reminds me a little bit of the High Beam from Benefit which I have been eyeing up for awhile so it’s cool that I can try this one out.

Overall, I am fairly happy with this box! It is probably my least favourite Memebox so far and it is still a good one, so Memebox has got a good track record with me! Including the shipping I paid $36 for this box (although I’m sure I used a coupon code which would have made it cheaper) and the total retail value of the box is $91 which is definitely above what I paid for it. I am excited for the boxes that I have coming soon from Memebox (which there are far too many off, yikes!).

Memebox Thanksgiving Box Collection #2 For You

Thanksgiving 2

Looking for a unique way to say thank you to that special someone this fall season? Need a gift idea for your mom, sister, or friend hosting 2014 Thanksgiving dinner? Then, opt for this ready-made luxury gift box, specially designed with a Thanksgiving themed box design, and a personal Thanksgiving holiday greeting! Pamper that special lady with this amazing limited edition bursting with the ultimate collection of K-Beauty skin care, makeup, and more!

I am way too excited that my Thanksgiving bundle has arrived! I only bought it last week and I was still far too impatient waiting for it, especially when I was trying to avoid the spoilers online. I bought this box in a bundle with the Thanksgiving Collection #2 For You box for $58.99 including the $6.99 shipping (with free upgrade to express shipping). I also had a coupon code so it cost me a total of $48.99 for both boxes (about 24.50 per box including shipping).

Now, let’s be honest. This box may be called “for you” but I am definitely keeping them both for myself. After opening the boxes, I was more excited for this one than the other but they are both great. Let’s see what is in this box!

            admin-ajax (3)admin-ajax (4) admin-ajax (5)

Vivoto Illust Lumiere Primer 30 ml ($50)

A lightweight primer that creates an invisible barrier between skin and makeup to prime your face for extra radiance and glow. Ideal for drier skins, this hydrating formula nourishes with moisture-rich blend of lavender water and bergamot leaf extracts to soothe and prime the skin, allowing foundation to glide on easily and stay fresh all day long. Its ‘elastic smoothing powder’ component helps control excess oil and sebum while thinly covering up visible pores and fine lines as well.

How to use: Apply alone or mix it with foundation or BB cream.

I am excited to get this primer! I am using a sample one right now that I really don’t love and this being a full size product worth $50 (although that is probably inflated) is great! I am really excited about the fact that it is ideal for dry skin because my skin is on the normal to dry side. I am hoping this means it will stop my makeup from clinging to any dry patches. I’m also hoping this isn’t too shimmery underneath my makeup. Excited to try this!

       admin-ajax (6)admin-ajax (7)

Shara Shara Miracle Multi Cream 50 ml ($18)

A nourishing moisturizer packed with rich nutrients from 30 different kinds of plan oil complex including grape seed oil, rosehip oil, and green tea seed oil. Delivers instant moisture surge and glowing radiance to dry, tired face as if letting the skin take a rejuvenating winter sleep! It will take care of dry patches and protect from external damages by locking in moisture for over 48 hours.

How to use: Apply directly to face, body, or hair.

I haven’t cracked right into this jar yet because I feel like I have too many creams on the go as it is. From what I can tell though, this is actually a thick balm rather than a cream. I’m not so sure I would use it in my hair but would definitely use it on my really dry patches. For me, this is usually small patches on my face, my elbows, and the bottoms of my feet. With the cold weather already here, this could definitely come in handy this winter!

         admin-ajax (8)admin-ajax (9)

Shara Shara Brush Set 5ea ($24)

A set of makeup brushes from Shara Shara packaged into a lovely, pink metallic pouch. It contains 5 brushes in total each designed for different purposes – 1 big fat brush for applying powder, 3 medium sized brushes for applying eye makeup, and 1 thinner and softer brush for applying lip makeup

I’m not super thrilled about the quality of these brushes. I was considering giving them as a part of a Christmas gift but I don’t think they are high enough quality to pass on to anyone. However, they will be handy to keep in my brush collection as back up brushes. I just wish that the sponge wasn’t one of the “brushes” included. They could have picked another nice medium sized eye brush that would have suited the set better.

        admin-ajax (10)admin-ajax (11)

Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm 12g ($24)

Formulated with orange peel oil, grape extracts, blackberry extracts, and Vitamin E, this Painting Sweet Lip Balm works to moisturize and revive dry, chapped lips. It’s scented with a sweet fruity fragrance and its unique jelly-like balm texture is also a fun, unique feature to take note of.

The scent/flavour options for this product were 01 Orange Farm and 03 Grape Farm. I got 03 Grape Farm, which I wasn’t thrilled about at first because I usually don’t like artificial grape scents. However, once I smelled it, I loved it! In the pot, this is just a clear balm. I put some on my lips while I was taking pictures and thought it felt pretty nice. Then came the surprise when I looked in the mirror a little while later. My lips were pink! I’m talking a fairly pigmented pink. I had no idea that the colour would change once it was on my lips, and the colour lasted forever! I love this product, although next time I will apply it when I am actually looking in the mirror because I coloured a little bit outside the lines last time haha.

       admin-ajax (12)admin-ajax (13)

Peripera Heart Glow Stick 02 Gold Aura 6.5g ($14)

This Heart Glow Stick in Gold Aura is a natural volume & radiance adding highlight packaged into an easy-to-carry mini stick. It’s gentle, creamy formula, consisting of hyaluronic acid, marine collagen, and deep ocean water, apply smoothly onto skin without being flaky or dry and work to add that perfectly dewy and voluminous glow to your completion.

How to Use: Lightly rub the Glow Stick over foundation onto cheekbones, nose, and any other parts of face that you wish to highlight.

I was super excited to see this in the box! I haven’t owned a highlight before but have been looking for one to try (I’m indecisive, what can I say?). I really do like the colour of this one and it blends out nicely so that it doesn’t look too golden. I think this will be even better in the summer if I can manage to get a bit of colour onto my skin. Awesome product!

admin-ajax (14)

with shyan Nail Lacquer 15 ml ($4)

The nail lacquers from with shyan are highly prized for their neon vividness that glides onto your nails smoothly and evenly without leaving any brush marks. The colour of the packaging bottle is exactly what you’ll see on your nails.

In this box you could have gotten Blue Violet, Neon Green, Pink Lady, or Neon Purple. I clearly got the Pink Lady and I am okay with this, it is a really nice colour and will be great in the summertime. I would have liked to try the Blue Violet too!

       admin-ajax (15)admin-ajax (16)

SARACEN Fluorescent Glitter 13g ($6)

SARACEN’s Fluorescent Glitters come in 4 different hexagonal colours – gold, silver, black, and blue. These metallic glitters sparkle differently from varying angles, giving your nails an additional vitality and splendor!

How to Use: Apply a layer of any nail colour and before it dries completely, sprinkle the Fluorescent Glitter on your nails, making sure to fill it thoroughly. Apply a top coat to finish off when it’s completely dried.

With the holidays so close, I am a little sad that I didn’t get the gold or silver. That being said, I am definitely glad I didn’t get the blue. I think that I will use these glitters for a completely covered accent nail. The only issue with this is that you don’t get a ton and when you open the lid, the glitter gets everywhere because it is so light and seems to cling to everything. I am excited to see how this looks though!

admin-ajax (17)

Pure Smile Essence Mask Sheet 23 ml x 2ea ($2)

Replenish your complexion into a baby-face with this milk mask sheet rich in milk protein nutrients, fresh raspberry extracts, Vitamin E, collagen, and hyaluronic acid which all work to moisturize, protect, and balance out the skin for a healthier complexion.

How to Use: Spread the mask sheet evenly over clean face. Rest 15-20 minutes. Remove and pat in the remaining mask essence for full absorbance.

Like I said for my other Thanksgiving box, I was really hoping for sheet masks! Between the 2 boxes I got 6 masks! Soooo exciting!! I have seen a lot of Pure Smile masks while reading about/watching Memebox unboxings so I was happy to have my own. These masks came in Milk and Strawberry Milk. I tried the Milk one the other night (my very first sheet mask) and my skin felt wonderful afterwards! Now I wish I had even more than 6 masks.

I am absolutely thrilled with these two boxes. For this box, I paid about $24.50 (including shipping) and the retail value of this box was $142 and even though I know Memebox values are a bit inflated, I don’t care. This is my best box yet and I hope that they can keep it up like this because I will definitely keep buying them if they can!
