Project Pan 2015 – Month Three Update

Hey everyone! My apologies for not posting for a few weeks. I have been in a bit of a blog funk and its been hard to get myself motivated. However, I am going to try and get back into it and I will start that off with my third Project Pan update! I do have to warn you that this was my least productive month so far, and was a little discouraging to be honest. They can’t all be super productive though so that is alright.

FINISHED PRODUCTS

IMG_20150331_203832

Fortune Cookie Soap Perfume Oil in Swankified

This is the only product that I was able to fully finish this month and I finished it within the first week of March. Along with a blogging slump, I wasn’t trying too hard with my Project Pan stuff so clearly I didn’t make as much progress as I have been so far this year. This product was received for free. It isn’t my favourite scent but it is nice, and I was using it as a before bed perfume.

PROGRESS

IMG_20150331_203920

Derma E BB Creme in Light Tint

I tried to squeeze the air out of some of the tube so you could see how much was left in this but obviously that didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. I would say that the product is probably from the cap to the right hand side of the flower in the logo. I have been trying to use this one as much as I can. The problem with this product is that even though it is a light tint, it isn’t quite the right colouring for me. It is light but it is a little bit too orange for me. I have been using it though so I’m hoping to finish this one up before too long. In terms of the actual product I like it so if there were a shade that worked better for me, I would probably purchase it.

IMG_20150331_203936

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel in Strawberry Sparkler

I find it hard for me to go through body wash too quickly because I keep several different bottles in the shower at a time. I like to mix it up with the scents so it takes me a bit longer to go through each bottle. You can see from the fill line that I have definitely made some progress since the last update. This scent is alright but isn’t my favourite. I’m not sure if I would repurchase this scent.

IMG_20150228_171355IMG_20150331_203950

The Face Shop Dessert Lip Balm in Strawberry Jam

The picture on the left is from the last update and the one on the right is the current update. It may not look like there is too much of a difference in the amount but there definitely is. I am still using this most nights before bed and it is definitely going down so I am hoping to have it finished within the next couple of updates.

IMG_20150331_204005

Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black

I really like the Falsies mascara. I think it does a great job of lengthening, I just wish it added more volume because my eyelashes are pretty long without any mascara. This one is getting older so it is starting to clump more. I will probably get rid of this at the next update just to keep it from being too old.

IMG_20150331_204014

Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Brownish Black

I really like the browner mascara for low key makeup days or when I am just running out of the house quickly. This is in the same state as the black mascara above so I think I will get rid of it at the next update too. I would repurchase both though for sure!

Well, that is it for this month. I promise that I am going to be putting out some more posts very shortly and I have some unboxings, hauls, and collection posts coming up. Stay tuned for those and thank you for reading!

Memebox Valentine’s Day #2 Candy For Me

Valentines Day 2

Whether you’re single or with someone, Valentine’s Day is a good day to be a lady! It’s because it’s the one and only day where you can get away with some indulgent self-gifts for decadent, self pampering. Because you’re so awesome, we gift you something super sweet! A box full of candy-scented wonderliciously made, and scrumptious-looking Korean beauty skincare and makeup goodies that will sweeten up your year! Screw Cupid, who says you need a valentine to get great gifts on Valentine;s Day?

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. The prices vary depending on the type of box that you get and can range from $15-$80 I believe. Most of the regular boxes are $23 and then you also have to pay $6.99 shipping for each box. You have to keep an eye on the shipping dates for each box because it can be months away, that way you aren’t frustrated wondering why the shipping takes so long. Please be aware that Memebox will no longer be shipping internationally. They will only ship to addresses in China, Korea, and the USA as of February 10 2015.

IMG_20150217_134420

This will be my very last Memebox unboxing/review which definitely makes me sad. I know that I received this box a few weeks ago but actually writing up my last unboxing makes it feel more real. Anyways, let’s see what came in this box.

Shara Shara Berry Berry Cleansing Sherbet 70g ($14)

Sorbet doesn’t just melt in the mouth, this Berry Berry Cleansing Sorbet melts on your face! It’s the perfect filling to go inside your favourite chocolate, but you’ll be able to massage this sinful delight into your skin! Designed to gently remove  even the most stubborn makeup, this sweet cleanser dissolves makeup, impurities, and oil without irritating or drying out the skin.

This has the same kind of cleanser texture as the Zero cleansers do and I really enjoy them so I think I will really like this! it has a nice scent to it so that is nice. I have really been liking these oil cleansers for taking off my makeup because they just make it easier! I am working on another oil cleanser and the moment but I look forward to trying this!

IMG_20150217_134937

Elizavecca Aqua Rising Steam Filler Moisture Cream 100g ($46)

Nope! It’s not the filling to your post-dinner dessert! This moisturizer, aka Gelato Cream, is a sweet remedy for soothing and moisturizing the skin! It uses a unique steam technology to provide a surge of a hyaluronic acid, minerals, and vitamins to instantly nourish stressed, dry skin. This ultra hydrating facial-in-a-jar has a chewy marshmallow gelato texture that instantly absorbs into the skin to deliver a powerful dose of hydration, and creates a protective shield over the skin to keep moisture and nutrients in and environmental stressors out! The results? You’ll see noticeable improvements in skin’s texture and supple, refreshed skin.

This is my first Elizavecca product and I am really happy to have it because I have heard Meme fans rave about their products. I have also heard some awesome things about this cream in particular so that makes me even more excited to use it. I do have to say that this is one weirdly described texture. I have never heard a cream described as having a “chewy marshmallow gelato” texture but we will see what it’s like. I’m not going to open it up until it’s time to use it.

IMG_20150217_135051

Rappol Nutritious Bio Ampoule Mask 27ml x 3 sheets ($18)

These unique facial sheet masks contain sweet  and savoury pomegranate, and Cleopatra’s secret to her legendary beauty, hibiscus flower extract. The micro-fiber material is saturated with a blend of sweet ingredients to help diminish wrinkles and fine lines and maximize brightness and evenness in the complexion for a youthful look all around. The intense formula delivers radiant results instantly, while reducing existing pigmentation for a breathtakingly beautiful finish. Who knew such candy-sweet ingredients will you give you your radiant glow?

I love me some sheet masks! Not too much i can say about this one other than I love masks and I am excited to use these ones. They sound like the results will be great so I look forward to using them! I’m glad that they gave us three of these and not just one.

IMG_20150217_135134

Lassie’el Kiwi Brightening Yogurt Massage Mask 12g x 4 ($6)

Brighten and perfect your complexion with this sweet and refreshing kiwi and yogurt twist! Kiwi and yogurt flavours are extremely popular candy flavours in Korea, and can be easily found in candy baskets and gift boxes during the Valentine’s season in Korea. Now, take this sweet mix, infused with real kiwi extracts, yogurt, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to brighten, correct, hydrate, and firm saggy skin for your best skin ever!

I have received this mask before in a black raspberry yogurt formula and I really like it! One thing that I love about these masks is that they come with a lid so that you don’t need to waste it. I think I can get 2-3 uses out of each pack so that lid really comes in handy! I’m excited to try the kiwi formula!

IMG_20150217_135233IMG_20150217_135314

Etude Sweet Recipe Candy Stick 2g ($5)

Enriched with bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon extracts, the Sweet Recipe Candy Stick is a loss type lip tint that moisturizes and plumps up your dry, chapped lips for a long-lasting radiance.

Last but not least we have this lip tint. I’m pretty sure this came in a Memebox before I started buying them but I have never received one before. There were three possible scents/colours for this box: seedless strawberry candy, oh! orange candy or sour lemon candy. I received the seedless strawberry version and I am pretty happy with it. I was surprised by how much colour it actually put off and the scent is quite nice! I look forward to using this!

I am surprisingly happy with this box. I bought it because it was part of the bundle but thought that it might just be cutesy stuff that I didn’t really care about. I was surprised at how nice the products in the box were. I paid $25 for this box and the total retail value is $89. I am glad I bought this one so I have mixed feelings of happy and sad because this is the last box.

Sorry I don’t have any coupon codes for you but if you would like to check out their website and make a purchase (until February 10 for everybody or anytime for China, Korea, and US residents), than you can do so at http://us.memebox.com/

Project Pan 2015 – Month Two Update

Two months down and I am still feeling pretty good about how I am doing. I’ve still been doing a pretty good job but most of the things I’ve finished have been on the easy side to finish. Makeup is definitely the hardest type of product to use up because they just last so long. That being said, it’s still only the beginning of March so I have plenty of time to work on it all! Let’s see how I did!

FINISHED PRODUCTS

IMG_20150228_171140

Fortune Cookie Soap Mist Me in Beetle Breath

I’m surprised I was able to finish this by my second month update to be honest. I only really used this as my spray before I went to bed. I did enjoy it quite a bit but smelling like popcorn/a carnival wasn’t exactly my ideal daytime scent. I liked it for what I used it for though.

Covergirl MarbleIMG_20150228_171237

Covergirl Nature Luxe Gloss Balm in Marble

I know it doesn’t look empty but the lip gloss is flush with the plastic container. I can’t get anymore of the product out so I am calling this one finished. I was using this as my morning lip balm while I did my makeup. I did really enjoy this but I have a ton of lip balms and glosses so it’s on to the next one!

Woodwick Pumpkin ButterIMG_20150228_171211

Woodwick 22 oz. Candle in Pumpkin Butter

I did not think I was ever going to get through this candle because it was so huge. As you can see from the lines on the jar, I have burned this candle like crazy since my last progress update. I haven’t let myself burn any candles other than this one because I wanted to finish it and now I have! I still love the scent of this one but after more than a month of it, I need a break for sure. I’m glad I finished it before spring.

IMG_20150228_171256

Fortune Cookie Soap Perfume Oil in There’s No Place Like Home

This one wasn’t all that full at the start of this project and I managed to finish it shortly after the last progress update. I enjoyed the scent of this more as time went on. Nothing else I can really say about this one.

Nivea Night CareIMG_20150228_171307

Nivea Moisturizing Night Care

This was a repurchase but right after I bought it was when I started buying Memeboxes. After that, I just wanted to use all the Korean creams that I had received so I wanted to use this one up before I opened the others. I have a lot of creams stored away now so I wouldn’t need to repurchase this for a long time.

PROGRESS

IMG_20150228_171849

Fortune Cookie Soap Perfume Oil in Swankified

The fill line on this one is a little tough to see but the current line is right at the top of the purple stripe. This is another scent that I have been wearing before bed and I enjoy it, but it isn’t my favourite. I smell like a loaf of banana bread before I fall asleep. I should be finished this one by the next update at this rate.

IMG_20150228_171725

Bath and Body Works Shower Gel in Strawberry Sparkler

I only started this bottle part way through February but I’m doing pretty well so far. I have used it for a bath as well as my showers so it went down a little quicker than it normally might. This one was a gift so it isn’t necessarily my favourite scent but I do enjoy it.

ELF Mineral Blemish PowderIMG_20150228_171550

ELF Mineral Blemish Powder in Clear

It’s hard to tell from the picture but I’ve used about half of this probably and I am enjoying it. I’ve been using it every day and I don’t think it will last me too long at this rate. I’m happy to be using this!

How Bout Them Apples PieIMG_20150228_171327

The Balm How ‘Bout Them Apples? in Pie

For such a small amount of product, you would think it would be easier to use. However, I don’t love the way that this feels and it doesn’t last very long so I’ve only been wearing it around the house when I actually think to use it. Hopefully I can make more of an effort with this one.

The Face Shop Strawberry JamIMG_20150228_171355

The Face Shop Dessert Lip Balm in Strawberry Jam

I have been using this as my nighttime lip balm and I feel like I am making pretty good progress with it. I think that I will have it finished within the next couple of updates. I like this one so I am enjoying using it.

This challenge is helping me to rediscover products that I am really enjoying using and also helping me use up ones that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. I’m still glad that I’m doing this project and I look forward to seeing how my next update goes.

Stay tuned for my next update in a month!

Indulge Me Box January 2015

January Box

So here we are with the Indulge Me Box for January 2015. This is my second month with this subscription and it is only the third box that the company has put out. Indulge Me Box is Canadian and costs $20 a month with free shipping to Canadians (US residents can get it with an additional shipping fee of $6). This box is said to be a combination of beauty/accessories/lifestyle and there are supposed to be 4-5 items per box.

Now, Indulge Me Box did send out an email in December saying that starting with the February box, there would be a $5 shipping fee added for Canadians. This is quite disappointing for me. I feel like all the US subscription boxes give free shipping for their US residents (which I am so jealous of) and that getting free shipping for a Canadian boxes is just one of the perks. After this email, I decided to see what I thought of the January box to figure out if I feel it is worth $25 to me or if I wanted to cancel. Let’s see what we got!

January Card FrontJanuary Card Back

I’m not sure if this is a result of the shipping process or not but the presentation of this box was a bit of a mess. It looked like everything had just been thrown in with a piece of tissue paper shoved in amongst it. Last month had beautiful packaging so I was expecting something similar. I was already a little bit disappointed upon opening the box.

Tea

It’s winter time and the only thing we want to do is get cozy, watch our favourite movie and drink a cup of hot tea. Pretty Tea is the perfect tea for that. Their tea ensures the satisfaction of your tastebuds – from the pureness of the High Mountain green tea to their warm spicy teas.

This pouch of tea contains 25 grams and is valued at $3.50. I’m not sure if there were various tea flavours that went out because it doesn’t state a flavour on the card but I would be interesting to see what else there was. If you have been reading my blog, you may know that I do not drink tea but my mom does so I am going to pass this along to her. The flavour that I got is called Lady in Blue and it is an earl grey that features lavender blossoms for extra flavour. We will have to see what mom thinks of it but I do feel this is a nice addition to the box for this time of year.

Lip BalmLip Balm Swatch

Fresh Cream Tinted Lip Balm is ultimate feminine lip balm is truly rich and creamy, made of the finest ingredients renown for their moisturizing and healing qualities, such as Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, and Coconut Oil. Every lip balm has a bit of tint and is freshly made just 2 weeks before shipping.

This lip balm is from Fresh Cream and it is valued at $3.50. Once again, I’m not sure if there were various flavours/scents or not but mine is Cherry Tint with gold shimmer. It does have a slight tint and it feels really nice and moisturizing. I am happy with this product and it will get used, although I do have what feels like a hundred lip balms scattered here and there. I must say, I also really like that it says it is made so soon before shipping. I’m not sure if it makes a difference with lip balm or not but let’s pretend it does!

     Sugar ScrubSugar Scrub Open

Yumm! That’s the first thought that comes to mind when we open this sugar scrub’s jar. Their sugar Whipped Soap is a convenient scrub and soap in one! Fine sugar gently polishes and softens skin, with tons of bubbly lather and skin loving moisturizers! Use every day and make your skin happy.

This soap/scrub is from Naiad Soap Arts and is valued at $6.57 for 2 oz. My scent is Raspberry Bellini and I am thinking there are other scents because the picture on the card is Orange Sherbet. I would be very interested in seeing what other scents there were. This scent is fine, it is kind of like a raspberry/perfumey/soapy kind of smell. The texture is very cool though. I had a whipped soap in my Fortune Cookie Soap box that had deflated during shipping but this one is quite spongy and held up. I have a couple soaps I am trying to get through at the moment but I will try this after that. Even if it is nice though, I feel like $6.57 for 2 oz. is a lot. Maybe that’s just me being cheap…

Earrings

These beautiful hoop earrings are semi handmade by people at Karma boutique which is a NY based family run accessory shop. These are lead compliant earrings with approx. 2.5″ inch drop.

These earrings aren’t horrible but they also aren’t my favourite. Even though the look of them isn’t the worst, they are HUGE. I tried one of them on and it not only looked gargantuan beside my face, they were also so heavy. The actual earring part (the part that goes through the hole…obviously I have no idea what it’s called when it’s not just a post) is really thin so it bends just from the actual weight of the earring. These are valued at $12 but I can’t see myself wearing them.

Feather Braid

Try something new this year with this lightly feathered braid string. This can be used in many ways from a trendy hair band to a beautiful hair accessory.

I need to be honest about this one. I do not like it at all and I will never wear it. This was the first thing I saw when I opened the box and I was so unhappy with it. This is valued at $8 which is wasted box value in my opinion. I’m not going to say much else about this because I don’t want to sound too negative.

Facial Mask

We wanted to fully indulge you this month so we decided to add this detox mask from Indie Shop of Toronto. This mask has capability to deep clean the skin. So start a new year with new refreshed skin. This mask can be used twice.

This is one thing I am actually excited about in the box, although it is only valued at $1. It is a Green & White dry mask that you mix with water and apply. I really love facial masks and I love that I will be able to get two uses out of this. I will be using this for sure!

Ok, let’s chat about this. I paid $20 for this box (which starting next month will be $25) and the given retail value of the box is $34.57 which isn’t great. On top of this, there are a number of products I won’t use. For the products that I will use, the value is $11.07 (or $14.57 if you include the tea that my mom will at least try). For $20 this isn’t worth it to me, and it definitely would not be worth it if I were paying $25. So, I have decided to cancel this subscription. I really wanted to love this box because it is Canadian but there are other services that I would rather try out with that money.

That being said, I would like to tell you my sort of pros and cons with this subscription service because even though it isn’t my cup of tea, it may be something that you would really love.

Let’s start with the pros. I do like that this subscription tries to use smaller companies products. It gives those companies a chance to get their name out there and it also gives subscribers a chance to discover these great companies. Within Canada, the shipping is pretty quick. I can not speak for the shipping to the US, but I do appreciate not having to wait a week longer than everyone else to get my box (it’s hard to avoid spoilers for that long!) I also like how there are a variety of types of products in these boxes (even if some of them don’t suit me all that much).

Now for the cons. I do not think that for me personally, the value is there for this box. Even if I would use every single item in this box, the value is not too much higher than what I paid which is a little bit disappointing. However, I do understand that this is a new service so it may take some time to get those higher value products in the box. This is really the biggest issue for me with this box, because I can not see myself accepting the new $25 cost with the value that we are getting.

Like I have said previously in this post, the products in here are just not for me. This is my own opinion and it does not mean that other people won’t find it exciting and amazing! The owner of this company seems very nice and so I am not trying to bash the service, just to state my own personal opinion. I will be very interested to follow along with the progress of the company to see what else they will include in future boxes.

If you would like to take a look at what this box is all about, you can find them at http://indulgemebox.com/ or you can check them out on their facebook or twitter.

Memebox Superbox #79 Oh! My Lips

lips

Oh my lips! The colder season is comin’ round the corner, but are your lips ready? If taking care of your lips isn’t part of your beauty to-do list this winter, re-think your beauty priorities. Most people don’t know, but collagen loss and wrinkles around the lips add ages to your face, and with winter winds and drier climate, lips are more prone to aging and thinning. Don’t fret because we’re here to help you fight against lip-aging with this Oh! My Lips box. All goodies are made with a bold blend of potent age-delaying, moisture-enhancing, volumizing, and smoothing ingredients to give you the look of beautiful, plump, and youthful lips.

Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

This was kind of a last minute, impulse purchase. I do find that my lips get quite chapped and sore during the winter, so i thought it would be nice to have a box like this. After purchasing, I did have a little bit of buyers remorse because I have so many lip products, I didn’t really need more. However, I am quite happy that I got this box, so let’s see what we got!

Oh My Lips Box

Oh My Lips Card FrontOh My Lips Card Back

Vivito Berry

Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm 02 Berry Farm 12g ($24)

This chubby jelly-textured tinted lip balm gives rich moisture and nutrition for dry lips. With a refreshing blend of blackberry, orange peel, grape, cacao seed butter, and more natural ingredients, this cute jelly balm will be the answer to winter’s lip care concerns. It also comes in a cute tin care for on-the-go care!

This is my third tin of the Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm. Fortunately for me, I have managed to get three different kinds, and I think there only are three scents/flavours in this line. This one is the Berry Farm version and it has a lovely scent. The texture of these balms is so nice so I am happy to have another one. I’m not sure I will ever use them all up but I will definitely put them to some use.

Lassie'el Lipstick

Lassie’el Kiss Me! Glam Up! Lipstick 6ea ($6)

These are not one-time, disposable lip tattoos. They are real pigmented lipsticks packaged into these easy-to-carry lip cards, providing you with 6 different colour options to choose from according to your mood, day and occasion!

How to Use: Remove the film and apply it directly onto lips or use a lip brush. Do not throw away after a single use.

I first made a judgement on this product before I opened the box or read the information on the card. Based on the picture on the card, I thought there was either a reddish colour or a pink colour. In the front of my box was a pink colour and I was a little disappointed. When I opened the box, I thought that there were 6 single uses of the same colour. Then, when I pulled them out and actually read the card/packaging, I realized there were 6 different colours and they’re not meant to just be single uses! The colours given are Lucid Orange, Lovely Pink, Oriental Red, Natural Coral, Vintage Pin, and Creamy Nude. I am actually pretty excited about being able to try all of the different colours!!

Update: An email went out about this product saying that the 6 colours were randomly selected. I’m not sure if this means that some boxes will have duplicates but the labels on my colours are all different so I think I got one of each.

SR Lip Scrub

SR Lip Scrub 30ml ($12)

Exfoliate away dead skin skills and deeply soothe and hydrate dry, chapped lips with SR’s Lip Scrub enriched with a blend of argan oil, tocopherol, vitamin E, snail filtrate, and pearl extracts. The gentle micro-beads soften and smoothen out roughened lips for supple, kissable pout!

How to Use: Massage the scrub gently over lips for 20-30 seconds. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

This is a perfect product for the cold winter months! I have never used a lip scrub that you rinsed off, only sugar scrubs that you can kind of lick off. I am currently using a sugar lip scrub from Fortune Cookie Soap so when that is gone, I will use this one. I may even use this one as a more intensive lip scrub when needed in between uses of my FCS scrub.

Vivito Makeup Remover

Vivito Dessin Solution Lip & Eye Remover 100ml ($32)

A double-layered Lip & Eye Remover that effectively melts away stubborn point makeup and skin impurities around the sensitive eye contours and lips. Make sure to shake the upper and lower layers well together before application. Its gently blend of lemon grass oil and rosehip oil has soothing and moisturizing effects as well.

I am surprisingly happy to have received this in the box. I know that it isn’t specifically a lip product, but that is okay. The makeup remover I am using now, can’t be purchased in Canada and I was wondering the other day what I was going to use when it ran out. Now I will have this makeup remover to use next!

Rosemine Lip Balm

Rosemine Vitamin E Lip Balm Mint Tea 12g ($7)

Scented with a refreshingly minty, herbal fragrance, this Vitamin E Lip Balm is richly formulated from a blend of Vitamin E, ceramide, peppermint extracts and 5 different kinds of moisturizing essential oil. It coats over dry, chapped lips with a moisture layer to lock in the moisture and to protect against external damage or dehydration.

I have so many lip balms at the moment but it is something that I will always use so I am happy to have this. It smells very minty and feels quite nice! It sinks in which is great because I don’t love when lip balms just sit on your lips and don’t do anything. I’m happy to have this in my collection!

Overall I am a lot happier with this box than I thought I would be! I paid $27 for this including shipping and received products with a retail value totally $81. Even though this is a lower value than some boxes, I will use absolutely everything in this box so that is worth more than just a high retail value! Awesome box.

Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted to get this box. It really intrigued me and it wasn’t too expensive but the description was a little vague so I wasn’t sure what I would get. When I saw that there were only 2 boxes left, I realized I had to have it so here we are.

Let’s see what came in this box!

IMG_20141217_135253

Enesti Apply & Honey Shea Butter Hand Cream 50g ($5)

The heavily nourishing honey and vitamin-rich apple formula of this hand cream works to moisturize, purify, and firm up dry hands.

I have so many hand creams on the go at the moment so I probably shouldn’t have opened this yet. I decided that I needed to smell it though so I threw caution to the wind. I am glad that I did open it because it smells lovely! I am more impressed with the scent than I thought I would be so thats awesome. I do have a couple of creams I want to use up before this one so it is going into my hand cream box.

IMG_20141217_144903

A.H.C. Climax Foam Cleanser 180 ml ($29)

Formulated from soda water, coconut, and glucose components, this A.H.C Climax Foam Cleanser is a mild facial cleanser with abundant foams and rich in various nutrients. It’s creamy in texture and leaves skin moist and supple after use. Recommended for all skin types – oily, dry, combination, and sensitive.

I have a cleanser and a half to use up before this one so it is still sealed. I am assuming that the soda water ingredient is the reason this was included in the Apple Mojito box which I guess makes sense. I think I was hoping for a little more towards the apple or lime end of things but I’m sure this will be a nice cleanser!

                IMG_20141217_135523IMG_20141217_135539

Holika Holika Dessert Time Lip Balm 06 Lemon Cupcake 6g ($6)

Moisturize and refresh chapped lips with lemon-scented Dessert Time Lip Balm in 06 Lemon Cupcake. The tinted formula also adds a natural pink flush and suppleness.

I remember seeing these lip balms in a previous box, although I can’t remember which one. Although the outside is cute, I am way more impressed with the actual balm. The smell of this is so nice and lemony! It also feels like it will be pretty moisturizing. I thought mojitos were made with lime, not lemon, but that is okay because I love lemon too!

IMG_20141217_135658

Purederm Skin Turn-over Lemon Peeling Toner 170 ml ($24)

This Lemon Peeling Toner is enriched with AHA, lemon extracts, witch hazel water, and portulaca extracts. When used on a cotton pad to tone skin after cleansing, it helps soothe and de-stress stimulated skin and facilitates skin turn-over by removing dead skin cells and smoothening out uneven skin texture.

I have now made an Excel spreadsheet just to keep track of which products I need to use when based on expiry dates (sad that I need to, I know). Even though I do have other toners waiting in the wings, this one will be next. I am hoping that this smells lemony but I’m not sure whether or not it will. Either way, I am glad to have it. It seems I will never need to buy things like toners and cleaners again at the rate I’m going.

IMG_20141217_135805IMG_20141217_135952

Tonymoly Red Apple Tox Honey Cream 80 ml ($12)

Made from vitamin-rich apple and deeply nourishing honey, Tonymoly’s famous red Appletox Honey Cream is a daily facial cream with a unique honey-like texture. The bouncy, hydrating gel cream stretches when patted on, giving the skin a massage effect as well as a silky finish.

For anyone who is really into Memebox, I’m sure you either already own, or have at least heard about the Apple Tox Cream. This was one of the items from the Cutie Pie Marzia 2 boxes that never seem to sell out and that few people want anymore. I never bought that box but from my understanding, this was one of the products people actually liked from it. As people have said, the smell of this cream is very nice and reminiscent of apples. A lot of people said that their creams leaked but mine had only a drop or two outside of the seal so that’s okay. It does feel sticky but thins out and absorbs quickly once it is on the skin. I am definitely happy to have this but won’t be using it for a little while still.

I am happy with this box! Since I wasn’t sure what to expect, I didn’t set the bar all that high. However, even if I had I think I would be impressed. I am building a collection of skincare products but since I am still newish to Memebox, I am okay with getting these kinds of things. This box was $26 with shipping I believe and the retail value of the box is $76. Even though the retail value isn’t all that high, everything in the box will be used and that is of more value to me than just a high monetary value.

Memebox #51 Citrus Care

Citrus Care

Zesty citrus fruits are prime beauty-boosting ingredients in tons of beauty products, and for a good reason! Loaded with collagen-boosting Vitamin C and skin brightening natural acids, citrus fruits are skin and body-savers that halt the signs of aging and promote supple skin! When collagen production starts to slow down (at age 35! Tear…) and skin becomes congested and damaged from years of exposure to external aggressors and free radical damage, fundamental citrus components step up their game to stop aging and damage in its tracks! The results? You’ll have a radiant and youthful flow, and your friends will be able to spot you from miles away! Plus, the unique blend of zesty citrusy fragrances will evoke an energetic mood and lift your spirits!

Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

When I first started purchasing Memeboxes, this was one that had already been sold out which made me sad. I absolutely love citrus and wished that I could have gotten this box. Fortunately for me, it was one of the boxes that came up in the Black Friday restock so I snatched one up right away and I’m glad that I did! I actually had my tracking numbers mixed up so I thought I was getting my Black Friday 3 box and it turned out to be this which was a nice surprise.

Let’s see what I got in this box!

IMG_20141217_134514

Unni Recipe Vitamin Recharger Essence 55 ml ($18)

A vitamin recharging, tone brightening essence that enriches dull, dehydrated skin with 6 different vitamins, lemon extracts, orange extracts, grapefruit extracts, lime extracts, and niacinamide.

How to Use: Apply directly to face after toner application and pat it in for full absorbance

This is my first essence! My Memebox addiction is really helping me develop an extravagant skincare routine. I only got this box today and I started using it already. With the cold winter months showing up, I can use all the brightening and enriching that I can get for my skin. This has a fairly pleasant smell and it is thicker than I expected an essence to be. I’m really excited to see what this does for my face!

IMG_20141217_134629

The Yeon All Day Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA+++ 50 ml ($17)

With no whitening effect and lightweight in texture, the All Day Sun Cream effectively yet gently protects the skin from UV exposure while replenishing with its blend of aloe vera leaf, broccoli, orange peel, kiwi, lemon grass, and avocado extracts.

How to Use: Apply evenly over face before foundation application

I just got my first sun block from Memebox in my Black Friday 1 box and I am happy to have both of them. Like the other, this is a fairly small sized sun block but during the winter I will only use it on my face so it should last a little while. I’m not sure if this one has a scent or not, I have kept it sealed since I am currently using the other sun block.

IMG_20141217_134725

Tonymoly Clean Dew Red Grapefruit Foam Cleanser 180 ml ($4)

This gently cream-to-foam cleanser packed with dewy red grapefruit extracts penetrates deep into the pores without over-drying to gently remove makeup, dissolve impurities and purify the skin for a firmer, healthier-looking complexion.

I kept this one sealed because I need to finish my Skinfood cleanser first. I want to open this and smell it so badly though because I love the smell of grapefruit and I’m hoping this is nice and citrusy. Cleansers are always something I will use so I am happy to have this!

IMG_20141217_134814

Mizon Refresh Time Grapefruit Body Wash 200 ml ($14)

A refreshing body cleanser designed to deep cleanse, moisturize and nurture skin with a lively grapefruit fragrance. Rejuvenate and de-stress with this Vitamin C rich formula!

Once again, this is something I kept sealed for the time being. I am doing a 2015 Project Pan and once that post is uploaded, you will see that I have a couple of body washes that need to be used up. I may need to see if any of them could work as a bubble bath just to get through them all. I also hope that this one smells grapefruity because that would just be amazing!

IMG_20141217_134958

Vivito Make-Up Starter Intro 70g ($35)

Melt away dead skin flakes and replenish moisture in just 10 seconds with the Make-up Starter Intro pad! This skin scaling pad shaped like a flower petal contains citric acid which helps exfoliate dead skin cells and also lavender water which delivers a deeply hydrating and soothing effect. Plus, it’ll leave an aromatic lavender fragrance lingering behind for a lasting pleasance.

How to Use: Swipe away dead skin cells and skin impurities with the dotted front side of the pad and then recharge with moisture with the flat side of the pad. Use it before going to bed or before make up application.

I am quite interested in this product. I have never used anything like it so I am interested in seeing if it actually makes a difference in my skin or not. The winter is definitely the best time to experiment with this kind of thing since my skin gets so dry. I did pop this one open and it has quite a nice scent to it so I am excited to try it!

IMG_20141217_135052

Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm Orange Farm 12g ($24)

Formulated with orange peel oil, grape extracts, blackberry extracts, and Vitamin E, this Painting Sweet Lip Balm works to moisturize and revive dry, chapped lips. It’s scented with a sweet fruity fragrance and its unique jelly-like balm texture is also a fun, unique feature to take note of.

I received the Grape Farm version of this product in one of my Thanksgiving boxes and haven’t used it too much. The orange version smells lovely and it has a much more subtle tint to it than the grape version does. I have too many balms on the go at the moment so this may not get used for a little while.

Overall I am very happy with this box. I did know what was coming in it before I ordered so if I were unhappy, that would be my own fault for purchasing it. When I bought this, I had a lot of Memepoints and had a coupon code as well so I managed to get this for only $15 including shipping which is great! The overall retail value for this box is $112 which is well above what I paid for it!
