Ipsy March 2015

For those of you who don’t know what Ipsy is, it is a monthly beauty subscription service. The cost is $10 per month plus $5 shipping per month to Canada. When you sign up, you take a little quiz about your preferences and details about yourself and they use that to choose appropriate products for you. Each month you will get a beautiful pink bubble mailer and inside is a cosmetics bag with the products inside. The cosmetics bag is different each month which is kind of cool! You can review products and share on social media in order to get Ipsy points which you can accumulate to buy certain products.

The theme for March was Floral Fantasy which I like and the bag for this month was pretty nice so I was impressed with that. Let’s see what came in my March bag!

Skyn Iceland Hydro Cooling Firming Eye Gels

Eye gels and eye masks are such a big thing right now and I really enjoy them. Everyone who got this in their glam bag received two pairs which I think is really great because it gives you a better idea of whether or not you like them. I have already tried a pair of these and I found them so refreshing! These might be my favourite eye gels out of all the ones I’ve tried to date!

A full size box contains 8 pairs and retails for $30, making these 2 pairs worth about $7.50.

Acure Day Cream

Since I have so many creams lined up from my Memeboxes in the past, a day cream isn’t necessarily the most exciting thing in the world for me. I would much rather try various makeup products but it is nice to mix it up every once in awhile. I know that I have tried skincare that I’ve received in past Ipsy bags and really enjoyed them so I can’t make a snap judgement. I will definitely try this out at some point.

A full size of this is 1.75 oz and retails for $18.99, making this 1 oz sample worth about $10.86.

Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow

From what I can tell, this little duo was made for Ipsy but I am not 100% sure on that one. I quite like using Pixi shadows, and have a palette from them that I really enjoy. These colours are beautiful and are definitely the kinds of colours I wear on a daily basis. I have such mixed opinions on the colours I get from Ipsy. I have mostly gotten neutrals which means I end up with a lot of single shadows that are near the same colour. However, I wear those kinds of colours and if I were getting blues and greens all the time, I would be complaining that I never get wearable colours. So, that being said, I am very happy with what I have received here.

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter

I remember before I subscribed to Ipsy, I watched through so many videos of past bags. I remember seeing this Chella highlighter in some of the earlier bags, thinking it looked cool, and being a little sad that I wouldn’t ever get it because it had already been featured. Fast forward to this March bag and I got it! I quite like the effect it has, although it can be a little tough to blend. I think the colour is perfect for me and once I get the hang of how much I should be using, I will be even happier with it!

I think this might be a full size of the product, making is $18, but I could be wrong about that.

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Pops

I absolutely LOVE this lipstick. First of all, I am a bit of a lipstick junkie these days so I am super happy to have received this in my bag. There were a couple colours you could have gotten. This one, a berry-ish pink, and a brighter pink I believe. I am happy to have received this more nude shade because it is perfect for daily wear. Not only that, but it feels so lovely to wear. It goes on so smoothly and just feels lovely. This is by far my favourite item in the bag!

I’m really happy about this bag! I received quite a few items that I am pretty excited about and everything in the bag will get used so that is a success to me. The overall value of this bag was $46.36 which is pretty good so I would say it’s a win!

Memebox Collaboration #9 Soothing Sista

Soothing Sista

Soothing Sista knows how to rock a look. Most often found on the streets of San Francisco, she is taking the YouTube world by storm with her skincare, makeup, and fashion tutorials. Showcasing looks for the edgier goddess in you, Soothing Sista, isn’t afraid to take a risk. She’s hand-picked hottest skincare and makeup products of the month straight from Korea, which we’re sure you’ll love!

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. The prices vary depending on the type of box that you get and can range from $15-$80 I believe. Most of the regular boxes are $23 and then you also have to pay $6.99 shipping for each box. You have to keep an eye on the shipping dates for each box because it can be months away, that way you aren’t frustrated wondering why the shipping takes so long. Please be aware that Memebox will no longer be shipping internationally. They will only ship to addresses in China, Korea, and the USA as of February 10 2015.

I picked this box up in a restock and I was glad it came up because it was on my wish list. When this box was originally released, I knew what was inside it and I considered purchasing it but that was before I was really on the Memebox bandwagon. Afterwards though, I was reading blog posts about it and regretted not buying it! I was happy to be able to get my hands on it.

Vicioni Super Aqua Soothing Serum 30ml ($29)

No carbomer, no silicon, no artificial ingredients, and no chemical preservatives whatsoever. It’s true that Vicioni Super Aqua Soothing Serum may smell less than pleasant and not as quick to absorb as that of other brands. However, this is because Vicioni takes great care in selecting only skin beneficial, non-chemical ingredients for its 100% natural formula. It contains high concentrates of ‘caulerpa racemosa’ (also known as ‘sea grape and rich in sea minerals, vitamins, and nutrients), rice bran, hyaluronic acid, mushroom ferments, aloe vera, etc. The ocean will deeply replenish, brighten up, and smoothen dry, dulled complexion.

This sounds wonderful! I don’t have a serum on the go at the moment so I will definitely be putting this to good use. I am a little concerned about the fact that they say it smells less than pleasant considering it will be all over my face. I haven’t used it yet so I’m not sure how it actually smells but we will find out soon enough. Not related to how the product works, I love the packaging of this serum. I think it’s absolutely beautiful! I look forward to trying this out.

Tonymoly Egg Pore Blackhead Steam Balm 30g ($11)

A self-heating steam balm that opens up clogged pores by warming the skin with its blend of sulfur hot spring water and heating agent the more you massage it onto face. Then 3 kinds of scrubs – white salt, charcoal powders, and egg yolk – work to thoroughly remove all blackheads, whiteheads, and dead skin cells piled up inside enlarged pores. Rich in calcium, various minerals, acetic acid, amino acid, and vitamins, it also delivers deep nourishment, control excess sebum, and prevent skin dehydration.

How to Use: Apply the steam balm over nose area. (Make sure to towel-dry after cleansing) Gently massage for 3-5 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water when the translucent oil balm turns opaque. Recommended to be used once or twice a week.

I am definitely drawn to this because I love clearing out my pores. I’m aware that this is a super weird thing to say but I said it so it’s out there now. I’m not quite sure how this works, it is more like a cream or like a grommage kind of peeling action but I am excited to try it out! I have such a hard time deciding every day which types of masks to use and this will just be added to the pile of indecision.

Shara Shara Mineral Capsule Cream 50ml ($18)

This Miracle Capsule Cream is an anti-wrinkle moisturizer enriched with glacier water and nourishing capsules containing 24 kinds of oil complex. Deliver instant moisture surge and supple firmness to dry, tired face as if letting the skin take a rejuvenating winter sleep! It will take care of dry patches and protect from external damages by locking in moisture within skin.

I haven’t opened this because I still have creams on the go so I don’t want to expose this to the air just yet. For whatever reason, the inclusion of glacial water just makes it sound so nice and refreshing. My skin is kind of normal to dry so this will be really nice! I have tried the Shara Shara balm and really like it so I’m sure I will like this too!

Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Primer Essence 20ml ($11)

Quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup adhere better for a long-lasting finish. The silky, lightweight formula can be worn under makeup to fill in uneven skin texture and visible pores, creating a smoother-than-smooth canvas and mattifying excessive oil and shine. Its gently formula consists of both sebum control powder and moisturizing essence component, thus is works to control excess sebum while maintaining a healthy moisture balance at the same time.

I have yet to find my holy grail primer and I am hoping that this might be it! My problem is that I have large pores and so foundations and BB creams settle right into my pores and it just looks awful. Other people may not notice it unless they are right up close but it is on my mind! I would love to have this actually settle into my pores so my makeup can sit smoothly on top. Maybe this is just wishful thinking but we will see how it measures up!

Dewytree Deep Detox Black Mask 1ea ($3)

A facial mask that clarifies skin pores and rejuvenates dull skin with volcanic scoria clay from Jeju Island containing rare minerals. It’s also formulated with charcoal powder, papaya extracts, grapefruit extracts, walnut shell powder, and centella asiatica extracts to detoxify and revitalize the skin.

How to Use: Wash your face and remove makeup and any environmental toxins. Gently unfold mask and place on your face, adjust the eyes, nose and mouth opening. Relax for 15-20 minutes with the mask in place. No need to rinse, massage remaining product into your face.

Ever since I have been involved with Memebox, I have been intrigued by these black masks. They have such nice sounding ingredients in them and people seem to really enjoy using them. I haven’t tried this yet but I do know they look absolutely horrific when they are on your face since the sheet mask itself is black. I find it pretty funny but if you are walking around your house with it on, you may scare your family.

Vivito Painting Matte Finish Lip Stick 1ea ($30)

A 3-effect matte lipstick that smoothly glides on with a creamy texture, steins lips with a highly pigmented, radiant colour in just a single swipe, and leaves lips velvety soft and super matte without being dry and flaky.

I am obsessed with this lipstick. There were 5 possible options: RD01 Sour Red, RD02 Red Sun, RD03 Red Ribbon, PP01 Raspberry Purple, PP02 Orchid Purple. I was kind of hoping for the Raspberry Purple but I got Red Sun. I was a little disappointed at first but after wearing this, I love it! This is a pink toned red and it wears so nicely! It definitely does not feel drying and the colour looks beautiful. I have already been looking online to see if I can get other colours at a decent price. If you know of anywhere, let me know in the comments!

Revecen Blooming Collagentox Sleeping Water Pack 90ml ($18)

A nourishing sleeping facial pack formulated with snail mucus extracts, bird nest extracts, aloe vera leaf extracts, orange zests, Japanese prickly ash berries, pasque flower extracts, usnea extracts, and cypress water. Yellow vitamin capsules will absorb deep into skin to replenish, firm up and balance out uneven skin tone.

I have quite the collection of sleeping packs. At the rate I actually use them, I may never go through all of the ones that I have stashed away. The packaging of this sleeping pack is quite nice, I definitely wouldn’t mind having it sitting on my vanity. There are so many really interesting ingredients in this one, namely bird nest extracts. What does that even mean? Very interesting indeed. I look forward to trying this one!

I am so happy that I was able to get my hands on this box! It sold out really quickly during the restock and some people were refunded for theirs so I am glad that I was one of the lucky ones who got it. I paid $21 for this box plus $6.99 for shipping and the retail value for the products is $120. This is definitely one of the best boxes that I have purchased!!

Sorry I don’t have any coupon codes for you but if you would like to check out their website and make a purchase (until February 10 for everybody or anytime for China, Korea, and US residents), than you can do so at http://us.memebox.com/

Give Me More Lip

Give Me More Lip

Today I will be reviewing the Give Me More Lip holiday set from Sephora. This was something I had wanted for Christmas and was fortunate enough to receive it! I have an insane amount of lip products already but I wasn’t going to let that stop me!

Give Me More Lip Open

This set is just beautiful! It comes with 17 lip products from well known brands that are deluxe sized and there is supposed to even be one full sized product included. The colours are organized into nudes, pinks, berries, and reds. I do have to say that trying to swatch these onto my lips was tough because some of the colours wanted to stain. In the process of constantly wiping off lip colours, all the makeup around my mouth was wiped away too so just ignore how atrocious that looks! Let’s see what these colours were like!

Too Faced Nude Swatch

Too Faced Nude

Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lip Cream in Naked Dolly (0.05 oz)

Alrighty, let’s start off with our first nude which is from Too Faced! This colour is described on Sephora as a satin pink. The formula for these lipsticks are supposed to be rich and creamy and are infused with moisturizing and strengthening benefits. The full size of this product is $26 and is 0.11 oz making this worth about $11.80. Holy moly! I don’t typically wear colours that are really nude but I don’t mind this! The formula really is creamy so I will be interested to see how long it lasts on the lips.

Bare Minerals Nude Swatch

Bare Minerals Nude

bareMinerals Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Speak Your Mind (0.05 oz)

I LOVE this colour. I got this on Christmas day and it was the colour I decided to wear that same day. This colour is described by Sephora as a bubblegum pink which I do agree with but I think it is a subdued kind of colour. Most bubblegum pinks I look at and kind of cringe but this is absolutely beautiful. It is perfect to wear with a more made up eye look. This formula is supposed to be creamy and ultra-pigmented with a rich satin finish. The full size of this product is $23 for 0.12 oz making this mini version worth about $9.58. I think I would pay full size for this product!

Laura Mercier Nude Swatch

Laura Mercier Nude

Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Blush (0.10 oz)

This colour is described as being a medium rose brown, but it comes across a bit lighter on my lips than it looks in the tube. These are meant to be sheer so that they can be worn alone or layered on top of another lip colour. I do like this colour and think I will wear it for sure! The full size of this is $29 for 0.15 oz making this worth $19.33. This is almost a full size itself so that is awesome!

Stila Nude Swatch Stila Nude

Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Nude Vinyl (0.04 oz)

This colour is so pigmented, I don’t think I have ever seen a gloss that goes on with such an opaque colouring. The brush has quite a bit of flexibility which I like, and it is very soft. This colour is described as a medium pink nude which I think is quite accurate! These glosses are meant to be very glossy and shiny and are meant to look like you have a lipstick on. The full size of this is 0.14 oz and retails for $32 making this worth about $9.14. I look forward to using this!

Makeup Forever Nude Swatch Makeup Forever Nude

Make Up For Ever Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in 3C Medium Neutral Beige (0.025 oz)

This colour is described as a medium nude beige and is said to be creamy, non-transferable and long lasting. I actually was more fond of this colour on my lips than I was just looking at the pencil. I am quite fair so colours that are too beige can look kind of funny on me. However, I think this would be great with a gloss or a lipstick over top! The full size of this product is 0.04 oz and retails for $23 making this pencil worth about $14.38. That seems crazy to me because it isn’t too big but I guess pencils can last a long time.

Tarte Pink Swatch Tarte Pink

Tarte LipSurgence Power Pigment in Flush (0.04 oz)

This colour is absolutely beautiful! I can’t stop looking at it. I feel like this is almost a berry-ish kind of pink and it is actually described by Sephora as a sheer berry. These lip tints are supposed to be moisturizing and provide bold colour. I absolutely can not wait to wear this out and about! This is actually a full size product and it retails for $29! Amazing! If this is as good as it seems, I may need to try other colours in the line.

Posie Balm Pink Swatch Posie Balm Pink

Benefit Cosmetics Posiebalm Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm (0.1 oz)

This colour is described as a poppy pink. It is a really sheer wash of colour that is quite hydrating while providing a slight tint. I think this will be nice for when you want to have a little sheen to your lips but don’t want to wear anything heavy. These are meant to be sheer so I am glad that was their intention! The full size of this product is 0.10 oz and retails for $22 making this teeny sample worth about $2.20. I don’t think this one will last me too long at all.

Bite Pink Swatch Bite Pink

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Palomino (0.07 oz)

This colour is absolutely gorgeous! I keep wanting to describe it as a raspberry watermelon kind of colour, so it obviously makes me think of the summer! It is described on Sephora as a vibrant magenta which I definitely will not argue with. These colours are meant to be moisturizing and long-lasting. I am so excited to wear this colour! The full size of this retails for $28 and is 0.15 oz making this sample worth about $13.08. This is another one that I could see myself purchasing the full size if I like it!

Too Faced Pink Swatch Too Faced Pink

Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in Fuchsia (0.16 oz)

I have heard so much about the Melted Lipsticks from people on Youtube and from various blogs. I was so happy to be able to try it. This is such a pretty colour, I think it would be perfect for the spring and summer! This is described as a hot pink and that it is. If I like the formula of this, there are definitely other colours I would like to try. This does feel a little wet so I will be interested to see if it lives up to the promise of having “staying power”. The full size is 0.4 oz and retails for $25 making this version of it worth about $10.

Sugar Berry Swatch Sugar Berry

Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment (0.08 oz)

This is a lip treatment that is meant to nourish, protect, and plump the lips. It also has SPF 15 which is really nice because we need to remember to protect our lips from the sun too! This is described as a bold flirty berry, but I do find it a little bit subtle which I like. It can be a little uneven in the application so it just takes a little bit more time to make sure it looks smooth. The full size of this is 0.15 oz and retails for $26 making this worth about $13.83.

Buxom Berry Swatch Buxom Berry

Buxom Mini Full-Bodied Lipstick in Menace (0.04 oz)

This is an absolutely beautiful colour! It is described as a rich wine colour and it is actually sold out in this colour on Sephora so it must be a popular one. I think this will be so pretty for the winter! I didn’t really have any berry colours before receiving this set so I am so happy to have this colour! The full size is 0.13 oz and retails for $26 making this mini version worth about $8.

Tarte Berry Swatch Tarte berry

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Moody (0.06 oz)

If I had to describe this as a kind of berry colour, I guess I would have to say it’s more of a strawberry or cranberry type. I am happy to have a berry that isn’t so deep though because it is nice to have some variation in your lip products. This is described as a deep berry on Sephora which I don’t quite agree with but that is alright. These are meant to be moisturizing lip stains that give a natural flush to your lips. The full size is 0.1 oz and retails for $29 making this mini worth about $17.37.

OCC Lip Tar Swatch OCC Lip Tar Berry

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Black Dahlia Lip Tar: Matte Test Tube (0.08 oz)

I have heard a lot about the Lip Tars and to be honest, the colour of this scared me a little bit. When it first comes out of the tube it looks black, but it can definitely be sheered out and I really like it! This one also came with its own little lip brush which I really like because not everyone has lip brushes. This is meant to be matte but I didn’t wear it long enough to see if it does become matte or not. When I first put it on, it does seem relatively glossy so I will be interested to see that. This is described as “blackest blackened red” (terrifying!) and it is another one that is sold out online. The full size is 0.33 oz and retails for $22 making this one worth about $5.33. A little bit goes a long way with this one so it may last me quite awhile!

Sephora Red Swatch Sephora Red

Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion in 10 Red Essence (0.068 oz)

This is my first Sephora brand lip product so I am happy to try it! The formula for these is supposed to have no texture and should leave the lips soft with intense colour and no sticky residue. This colour is more of a brick red than I thought it was going to be but I like it! I will definitely be interested in trying it when I can take more time to apply (and when I’m not rushing so that I don’t stain my lips). When I swatched this on my hand briefly, it did leave a stain so I hope it works the same on my lips. The full size is $18 for 0.152 oz making this worth about $8.04.

Laura Mercier Red Swatch Laura Mercier Red

Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Red Amour (0.09 oz)

Red Amour is described as a classic neutral red. The formula is supposed to be medium-to-full coverage that they claim will last 6-8 hours. I am very interested in seeing how long it really will last! I do like this colour and I think it will be nice this winter! The full size is 0.14 oz and retails for $32 making this deluxe size worth about $20.51.

Hourglass Red Swatch Hourglass Red

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon (0.03 oz)

Please excuse the actual application of this one. At this point I had put so many colours on, I was really rushing because I was afraid they were all going to stain my lips. This definitely is an opaque colour and I really like it! This is another one (like the Stila) that has a very soft and pliable applicator which I like! This claims to be matte and delivers 14 hours of continuous wear without smudging or dryness. 14 hours?! I will believe that when I see it, but I really hope it lives up to that. This is actually a travel size that they sell which retails for $12 so that is awesome!

Kat Von D Red Swatch Kat Von D Red

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw (0.10 oz)

For the last colour of the bunch we have a very opaque Kat Von D colour. Just look at that swatch, holy cow! I haven’t ever owned anything by Kat Von D so I was excited to get this. I do associate her with red lips so it makes sense that this would be in here. This is described as a brick red which I would agree with and it is supposed to have a smooth, matte finish. Even while I was swatching these on my hand it dried to a matte finish so quickly so that is exciting! The full size is 0.22 oz and retails for $24 making this worth about $10.91.

This set retailed in Canada for $70 and claimed to have a value of $230 Canadian. By my calculations everything is worth about $214.50 Canadian but my math may be a little bit off. Either way, the value of this is huge! Not only that but there is such a wonderful variety of colours, brands, and types of products in this set. I am absolutely obsessed and have already warned my family that I may be rocking a different colour of bold lip every day. I love this set, I am so glad that I got it, and I think I would ask for the same kind of set again next year if it is available! If you got this set, let me know what you thought of it in the comments! Thanks for reading!

Memebox Superbox #79 Oh! My Lips

Oh my lips! The colder season is comin’ round the corner, but are your lips ready? If taking care of your lips isn’t part of your beauty to-do list this winter, re-think your beauty priorities. Most people don’t know, but collagen loss and wrinkles around the lips add ages to your face, and with winter winds and drier climate, lips are more prone to aging and thinning. Don’t fret because we’re here to help you fight against lip-aging with this Oh! My Lips box. All goodies are made with a bold blend of potent age-delaying, moisture-enhancing, volumizing, and smoothing ingredients to give you the look of beautiful, plump, and youthful lips.

Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

This was kind of a last minute, impulse purchase. I do find that my lips get quite chapped and sore during the winter, so i thought it would be nice to have a box like this. After purchasing, I did have a little bit of buyers remorse because I have so many lip products, I didn’t really need more. However, I am quite happy that I got this box, so let’s see what we got!

Oh My Lips Box

Oh My Lips Card FrontOh My Lips Card Back

Vivito Berry

Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm 02 Berry Farm 12g ($24)

This chubby jelly-textured tinted lip balm gives rich moisture and nutrition for dry lips. With a refreshing blend of blackberry, orange peel, grape, cacao seed butter, and more natural ingredients, this cute jelly balm will be the answer to winter’s lip care concerns. It also comes in a cute tin care for on-the-go care!

This is my third tin of the Vivito Painting Sweet Lip Balm. Fortunately for me, I have managed to get three different kinds, and I think there only are three scents/flavours in this line. This one is the Berry Farm version and it has a lovely scent. The texture of these balms is so nice so I am happy to have another one. I’m not sure I will ever use them all up but I will definitely put them to some use.

Lassie'el Lipstick

Lassie’el Kiss Me! Glam Up! Lipstick 6ea ($6)

These are not one-time, disposable lip tattoos. They are real pigmented lipsticks packaged into these easy-to-carry lip cards, providing you with 6 different colour options to choose from according to your mood, day and occasion!

How to Use: Remove the film and apply it directly onto lips or use a lip brush. Do not throw away after a single use.

I first made a judgement on this product before I opened the box or read the information on the card. Based on the picture on the card, I thought there was either a reddish colour or a pink colour. In the front of my box was a pink colour and I was a little disappointed. When I opened the box, I thought that there were 6 single uses of the same colour. Then, when I pulled them out and actually read the card/packaging, I realized there were 6 different colours and they’re not meant to just be single uses! The colours given are Lucid Orange, Lovely Pink, Oriental Red, Natural Coral, Vintage Pin, and Creamy Nude. I am actually pretty excited about being able to try all of the different colours!!

Update: An email went out about this product saying that the 6 colours were randomly selected. I’m not sure if this means that some boxes will have duplicates but the labels on my colours are all different so I think I got one of each.

SR Lip Scrub

SR Lip Scrub 30ml ($12)

Exfoliate away dead skin skills and deeply soothe and hydrate dry, chapped lips with SR’s Lip Scrub enriched with a blend of argan oil, tocopherol, vitamin E, snail filtrate, and pearl extracts. The gentle micro-beads soften and smoothen out roughened lips for supple, kissable pout!

How to Use: Massage the scrub gently over lips for 20-30 seconds. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

This is a perfect product for the cold winter months! I have never used a lip scrub that you rinsed off, only sugar scrubs that you can kind of lick off. I am currently using a sugar lip scrub from Fortune Cookie Soap so when that is gone, I will use this one. I may even use this one as a more intensive lip scrub when needed in between uses of my FCS scrub.

Vivito Makeup Remover

Vivito Dessin Solution Lip & Eye Remover 100ml ($32)

A double-layered Lip & Eye Remover that effectively melts away stubborn point makeup and skin impurities around the sensitive eye contours and lips. Make sure to shake the upper and lower layers well together before application. Its gently blend of lemon grass oil and rosehip oil has soothing and moisturizing effects as well.

I am surprisingly happy to have received this in the box. I know that it isn’t specifically a lip product, but that is okay. The makeup remover I am using now, can’t be purchased in Canada and I was wondering the other day what I was going to use when it ran out. Now I will have this makeup remover to use next!

Rosemine Lip Balm

Rosemine Vitamin E Lip Balm Mint Tea 12g ($7)

Scented with a refreshingly minty, herbal fragrance, this Vitamin E Lip Balm is richly formulated from a blend of Vitamin E, ceramide, peppermint extracts and 5 different kinds of moisturizing essential oil. It coats over dry, chapped lips with a moisture layer to lock in the moisture and to protect against external damage or dehydration.

I have so many lip balms at the moment but it is something that I will always use so I am happy to have this. It smells very minty and feels quite nice! It sinks in which is great because I don’t love when lip balms just sit on your lips and don’t do anything. I’m happy to have this in my collection!

Overall I am a lot happier with this box than I thought I would be! I paid $27 for this including shipping and received products with a retail value totally $81. Even though this is a lower value than some boxes, I will use absolutely everything in this box so that is worth more than just a high retail value! Awesome box.

Memebox Colorbox #5 Jewel Tones

Whether you consider yourself fair, medium, olive, dark, or anywhere in between, this box full of rich, saturated jewel hued goodies that are universally flattering and will look good on virtually anyone! Think dark wine reds, deep purples, gorgeous emeralds, and more decadent jewel tones – this beauty box will satisfy your every chromatic whim. Sneak some of these precious stone tones into your fall season makeup and beauty for your chicest look ever!

Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

I bought the Colorbox bundle which included the Electric Brights, Jewel Tones, and Pastel Hues all for $30 plus shipping. With a coupon code and a couple of points, it ended up costing me about $32 for the lot. This came out to just under $11 per box which is great. This bundle was also the first Memebox purchase I made, so the shipping date was months from when I ordered it. This is the Jewel Tones box which I thought sounded absolutely wonderful! The colours they described for the box sounded beautiful so I was excited about this one!

Let’s see what we got!

Color World Lip MousseColor World Lip Mousse Swatch

Color World Multi Lovely Finger Mousse Lip 704 So Hot Pink 1ea ($20)

This lip mousse is a combination of lipstick, lip gloss, and lip tint. It glides onto lips with a rich pigment payoff and a smooth, non-sticky finish.

I think that the colour of this is quite lovely, and even though I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as jewel toned, it is the most jewel toned thing in the box which makes me sad. This is a bit tricky to work with so I might need some practice. The texture of this is definitely mousse-like which is so strange but it feels so soft. The thing that I found is it gets all over your teeth, it comes off on everything, and it streaks from your lips so quickly. I’m not sure if I should be letting this set for a few minutes before I move my mouth but it was a bit of a mess.

Color World Star PowderColor World Star Powder Swatch

Color World Star Powder 10g ($14)

Designed with the perfect mix of glitter and shine, Star Powder in Sparkle White creates a dramatic light-catching effect and brings instant sophistication to any makeup look. It coats over skin for a velvety smooth texture, sparkling with glowing elegance. Use it as a highlight, an eye shadow, or a facial & body glitter powder.

I can honestly say I have never felt the need to use a facial glitter powder. I got the shade 05 Violet but could have also gotten 01 White or 06 White Green. I think I am glad that I got the violet colour because I already have a white and I’m not sure how white green would look. I think this is a nice winter/holiday kind of colour but I’m not sure if it works year round. There also isn’t any kind of filter for this so it can be quite messy with so much loose powder.

Color World Lip GlossColor World Lip Gloss Swatch

Color World Kiss The Beads Lip Gloss 13 ml ($18)

A classic lip gloss that gives an intense shine and moisture from a blend of ceramide, natural essential oil, coenzyme Q10, and squalane. Despite its glossy visual, it’s non-sticky, long-lasting, and lightweight.

I’m going to be honest. I already hate this lip gloss. I’m not the biggest lip gloss fan in general but this one is bad. This was randomly selected from 02 Red Gemstone and 03 Red Gemstone. How confusing is that…Anyways, I got 02 Red Gemstone which is the one that looks more red than pink. If you look at the swatch above, beside the lip mousse, it is hardly pigmented at all. Not only that, it was so sticky. As soon as I swatched it, I was appalled at how sticky it was. I don’t see myself using this one.

Color World Stick ShadowColor World Stick Shadow Swatch

Color World Jewelish Stick Shadow 09 Crystal Silver 10g ($13)

Color World’s Jewelish Stick Shadow features beautiful shades with a creamy formula to provide an endless spectrum for creating flawless bold eye makeup. Each convenient stick is long-wearing, transfer proof, and crease-resistant. The colour glides on smoothly onto lids and blends easily for a rich pigment payoff.

I actually do like the colour of this (bottom/left swatch seen above). It is a nice silver and could look really nice this time of year with the cold weather and the holidays. It did glide on smoothly so I would like to see how it lasts on the eyes. Not a bad product.

Overall I am disappointed with this. The jewel tones they described for this box were rich, deep, and beautiful sounding. They decided to go with more white-ish crystal type jewel tones which I don’t prefer at all. I love lip products and the mousse I’m not sure about and the gloss won’t be used. Overall I’m not thrilled. The retail value for this box is only about $65. Stay tuned for the Pastel Hues box.

Memebox Thanksgiving Box Collection #1 For Me

Thanksgiving 1

Put this on your own wish list: K-Beauty junkies will go nuts over this limited edition “Thanksgiving Box Collection #1 For Me”! Everyone knows the best gifts are the ones you get yourself, so say thanks to yourself this 2014 Thanksgiving season, packed with the perfect collection of K-Beauty selects. Considering all the 2014 stress-think overtime work, juggling 2 kids, and cramming for finals week- you really, really deserve it! Memebox put together a special box full of holy grail K-Beauty goodies that we want to gift you this Thanksgiving season!

I am way too excited that my Thanksgiving bundle has arrived! I only bought it last week and I was still far too impatient waiting for it, especially when I was trying to avoid the spoilers online. I bought this box in a bundle with the Thanksgiving Collection #2 For You box for $58.99 including the $6.99 shipping (with free upgrade to express shipping). I also had a coupon code so it cost me a total of $48.99 for both boxes (about 24.50 per box including shipping).

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost. Let’s take a look at the first Thanksgiving box!

This box is so bright and colourful, I absolutely love it!

Clio Virgin Kiss Tinted Lip #22 Electric 3.5 g ($10)

A pop of orange under daylight, Virgin Kiss Tinted Lip in #22 Electric transforms into a glow-in-the-dark electric orange under blue LED lights. Its feathery lightweight formula glides onto lips smoothly and stains it with the colour radiance and adherence of a matte lipstick. Plus, its vivid colour formation is based on safflower components which were used as natural lip steins by Korean geishas back in the days.

This was the spoiler product for this box and I have to say, I just wasn’t excited about it. I love lipsticks but orange is not a colour that I can wear, especially not one that is this orange. I am intrigued to see what it looks like under LED lights but I think there are so many colours they could have given us that would have been better than this one.

Jaminkyung Gokmul Care Ultra Ampoule Toner 110 ml ($46)

Jaminkyung is a Korean natural cosmetics company with its brand value set on achieving ‘lasting beauty’ through a combination of naturally-derived quality ingredients and its safe & effective manufacturing technology. The Gokmul Care Ultra Ampoule Toner is a 2Phase essence type toner with a blend of lightweight whole grain-infused toner and deeply nourishing camellia oil in a 6:4 golden ratio. It will deliver a rich moisture boost while controlling the moisture/oil balance for dry, sensitive skin.

How to Use: After cleansing, gently wipe away with a cotton pad soaked with Gokmul Care Ultra Ampoule Toner.

I am excited about this product. The packaging is beautiful and it is absolutely huge! I feel like it will take me forever to get through this. I do have my Skinfood Tomato toner to get through first but this is definitely next in line! From what I have found, some of the ingredients in this toner are: camellia oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, barley, black sesame seed extracts, and other types of grain extracts.

803 803 Cream 50g ($34)

The 803 cream series is specifically designed so that each cream targets different parts of the face. They’re all enriched with shea butter, adenosine, adipophilin, niacinamide, and borphilin which have skin effective brightening and firming functions. The Palzza Cream works to firm up and fill in the deepening ‘smile lines’ that run from nose down to the corners of mouth. The Sam N Cream targets dry, sagging neckline with a blend of purified caffeine and collagen extracts. The Young Cream is a moisture booster for face and body.

So this came in 803 Palzza Cream, 803 Sam N Cream, or 803 Young Cream. I got the 803 Sam N Cream which is made to be used on your neckline and has caffeine and collagen extracts. I usually just use what is left on my hands while moisturizing my face, and bring it down to my neck. It could be interesting to see if this cream does anything for my neckline. At 25, I haven’t noticed my neckline sagging or anything but this is the time to start worrying about preventative aging products so I will definitely give it a try!

Sally’s Box 4 Set [Love Recipe Apple Mask 20 ml + Delight Panthenol Hydrogel Mask 25g + Delight Ceramide Hydrogel Mask 25g + Delight Collagen Hydrogel Mask 25g] ($13)

The Love Recipe Apple Mask is enriched with abundant apple extracts for soothing and balancing out rough skin texture and delivering moisture and nutrition into the skin. The 3 Delight Hydrogel masks are made from the ‘garden complex’ containing more than 10 herbal ingredients from Mother Nature and each work to deeply hydrate, firm up, and relieve coarse, thirsty skin.

How to Use: Place the mask over clean face and rest for 15-20 minutes. Remove the mask and pat in the remaining essence for full absorbance.

There is no way to express how excited I am about these! After ordering these boxes, I couldn’t help but hope there would be at least one type of mask in them because I haven’t been able to try any sheet or gel masks yet. I certainly didn’t expect to get a 4 pack of masks, and all different ones too! So excited!!! I can’t wait to try these, I may use one today after I shower.

Tonymoly Hello Bunny Perfume Bar 02 9g ($11)

A stick-type perfume bar packaged into a lovely bunny design. It’s infused with a top note of lemon citrus, a middle note of frisia and white rose, and a bottom note of sandalwood and musk.

I don’t think that I am a fan of this scent which makes me a little sad. In all of the fan forums, I have seen people rave about Tonymoly products and I was excited that I had gotten one. When I was reading the description, I thought it sounded nice and hoped it would be mostly citrusy. Unfortunately it is the musky sandalwood that I smell the most so i am not crazy about it. I do love the little bunny bow-tie though. I may need to find a loving home for this little guy.

Ariul Stress Relieving Purefull Cleansing Foam 75 ml ($8)

Abundant, cream-like foam bubbles penetrate deep into your pores, cleansing away any makeup residues, skin impurities, blackheads, and dead skin cells piled up and leaving your skin freshly cleaned, moist, and brighter overall.

Lately I have been enjoying trying different cleansers so I am excited to try this one! I am currently using my Skinfood Egg White Pore Meringue Foam Cleanser but this will definitely be the next one that I try. At this rate, I am never going to run out of cleansers and toners with Memebox and I love it! I hope this one smells nice, I didn’t open it yet because I am still using my other cleanser.

           admin-ajax (16)admin-ajax (15)

Pisteo Bright & Pure C Serum 7ml ($25)

Made up of pure Vitamin C concentrates, this tiny bottle of nutrients will replenish moisture balance, firm up fine wrinkles, and brighten overall complexion with continuous application.

How to Use: Replace the flat lid of the serum with a taller lid with a pipette and a cap over the top. Squeeze out a penny-size amount and massage it onto clean face.

This serum normally comes with four 7ml bottles which is worth $100 so this one bottle is worth $25. I have only just delved into the world of serums recently when I received a sample serum in my Topbox so I am excited to have this for when the sample runs out. I like that they provide you with the pipette top to use on this bottle. I didn’t notice any real smell to it which is better than it having an offensive smell. I will definitely be trying this one soon!

Those are all of the products in the Thanksgiving #1 box and I am really happy with it! In terms of value, I paid about $24.50 for this box (including shipping) and I received products totally $147 value. I am super happy with this and will get lots of use out of almost all of the products in the box. It is only the lipstick and the perfume bar that I am iffy about.

Stay tuned for my Thanksgiving #2 Box and if you would like to make any purchases from Memebox, feel free to use my affiliate link or codes below to do so! These codes are valid until November 29 2014.
