Beauty Joy Box February 2015

Now, it should be mentioned that my Beauty Joy posts have been absent for awhile. I have had some issues with shipping and what not so it has been a bit of a process. My January box was never sent. I had contacted them and they said it was re-sent but after a couple weeks without hearing anything, they ended up refunding me. We had some trouble with the shipping of this box too so it got to me pretty late.

Anyways, on to what this box is all about. The cost of this box is $15 a month with free shipping within the US. There is an extra $5 shipping fee to Canada and $10 to ship internationally. Each box ships on the 15th of the month so for those of us in Canada, that means receiving it relatively late in the month (November 24 for this particular month). Each box comes with 1 jewelry item, 1 full sized beauty item and 2-3 deluxe sized samples. Let’s see what came in the February 2015 box.

IMG_20150312_151605

This box was re-sent which is why it took so long and I am assuming that is also the reason I didn’t get an informational card in the box. Fortunately, I was able to look at other blog posts for pictures of the card to find out the values of each product.

IMG_20150312_151808IMG_20150312_151848

LipFusion Micro-Collagen Color Shine Lip Plumper ($38)

The colour that this lip gloss came in is called Bare. You can see why from the swatch picture above. It is definitely a nude which doesn’t really provide a colour on my lips, more of just a shine. Lip gloss isn’t my favourite kind of product because of the stickiness and I certainly can’t imagine paying $38 for a lip gloss. I didn’t notice any real plumping effects but I did feel the tingle. I am kind of neutral on this product, it isn’t bad but I would have preferred a nude lipstick.

IMG_20150312_151931

Silver Plated Heart Locket Necklace ($20)

This isn’t necessarily my favourite piece of jewelry but it isn’t bad. I’m not sure if it’s worth $20 or not because it does feel a little light and cheap but I may wear it at some point. It is a little bit rattly when it is hanging around my neck so we will see if that drives me crazy or not. I do really like the patterning on the front of the heart though.

IMG_20150312_151741

Alexandra de Markoff Balancing Cleanser ($3)

From what I can tell, other people who received the February box only received one of these cleansers so my value is actually $6 instead of $3. I have been using one of these are my shower cleanser lately and it definitely does do a good job of cleaning my face. It is a cream cleanser and it doesn’t foam so it kind of feels like I am rubbing lotion on my face in the shower which is a strange sensation. It does its job though for sure!

IMG_20150312_151703

Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizer ($1.75)

This is another product in the box that I think everyone else only got one of. I really like the hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works so I’m definitely not sad to have gotten two of them. My value for these is actually $3.50 instead of $1.75. I think that there was an assortment of different scents people received which is always fun. I received Jungle Passionfruit and Blue Skies & Blooms. Jungle Passionfruit is pretty good, definitely one I would have bought myself.

It was kind of funny because the day I got this box, I had been at Bath and Body Works that morning. While I was there, I had pointed out Blue Skies & Blooms because it sounded like it would smell great. I am happy that I have it because it smells great!

This box isn’t my favourite by any means but it isn’t bad.  The box value for this month was $67.50. I do have to say that after the frustration with all the shipping, I ended up cancelling my subscription. I had already paid for my March box so I have that one and that will it for awhile at least. I’m going to be unsubscribed for at least a few months and see if I really miss it. In the mean time, I have a couple other subscriptions I will be trying out to see how I feel about them.

There are several types of boxes, including: memeboxes, superboxes, nakedboxes, and boxes that are set around a particular theme. The prices vary depending on the type of box that you get and can range from $15-$80 I believe. Most of the regular boxes are $23 and then you also have to pay $6.99 shipping for each box. You have to keep an eye on the shipping dates for each box because it can be months away, that way you aren’t frustrated wondering why the shipping takes so long. Please be aware that Memebox will no longer be shipping internationally. They will only ship to addresses in China, Korea, and the USA as of February 10 2015.

IMG_20150217_134420

This will be my very last Memebox unboxing/review which definitely makes me sad. I know that I received this box a few weeks ago but actually writing up my last unboxing makes it feel more real. Anyways, let’s see what came in this box.

Shara Shara Berry Berry Cleansing Sherbet 70g ($14)

Sorbet doesn’t just melt in the mouth, this Berry Berry Cleansing Sorbet melts on your face! It’s the perfect filling to go inside your favourite chocolate, but you’ll be able to massage this sinful delight into your skin! Designed to gently remove  even the most stubborn makeup, this sweet cleanser dissolves makeup, impurities, and oil without irritating or drying out the skin.

This has the same kind of cleanser texture as the Zero cleansers do and I really enjoy them so I think I will really like this! it has a nice scent to it so that is nice. I have really been liking these oil cleansers for taking off my makeup because they just make it easier! I am working on another oil cleanser and the moment but I look forward to trying this!

IMG_20150217_134937

Elizavecca Aqua Rising Steam Filler Moisture Cream 100g ($46)

Nope! It’s not the filling to your post-dinner dessert! This moisturizer, aka Gelato Cream, is a sweet remedy for soothing and moisturizing the skin! It uses a unique steam technology to provide a surge of a hyaluronic acid, minerals, and vitamins to instantly nourish stressed, dry skin. This ultra hydrating facial-in-a-jar has a chewy marshmallow gelato texture that instantly absorbs into the skin to deliver a powerful dose of hydration, and creates a protective shield over the skin to keep moisture and nutrients in and environmental stressors out! The results? You’ll see noticeable improvements in skin’s texture and supple, refreshed skin.

This is my first Elizavecca product and I am really happy to have it because I have heard Meme fans rave about their products. I have also heard some awesome things about this cream in particular so that makes me even more excited to use it. I do have to say that this is one weirdly described texture. I have never heard a cream described as having a “chewy marshmallow gelato” texture but we will see what it’s like. I’m not going to open it up until it’s time to use it.

IMG_20150217_135051

Rappol Nutritious Bio Ampoule Mask 27ml x 3 sheets ($18)

These unique facial sheet masks contain sweet  and savoury pomegranate, and Cleopatra’s secret to her legendary beauty, hibiscus flower extract. The micro-fiber material is saturated with a blend of sweet ingredients to help diminish wrinkles and fine lines and maximize brightness and evenness in the complexion for a youthful look all around. The intense formula delivers radiant results instantly, while reducing existing pigmentation for a breathtakingly beautiful finish. Who knew such candy-sweet ingredients will you give you your radiant glow?

I love me some sheet masks! Not too much i can say about this one other than I love masks and I am excited to use these ones. They sound like the results will be great so I look forward to using them! I’m glad that they gave us three of these and not just one.

IMG_20150217_135134

Lassie’el Kiwi Brightening Yogurt Massage Mask 12g x 4 ($6)

Brighten and perfect your complexion with this sweet and refreshing kiwi and yogurt twist! Kiwi and yogurt flavours are extremely popular candy flavours in Korea, and can be easily found in candy baskets and gift boxes during the Valentine’s season in Korea. Now, take this sweet mix, infused with real kiwi extracts, yogurt, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E to brighten, correct, hydrate, and firm saggy skin for your best skin ever!

I have received this mask before in a black raspberry yogurt formula and I really like it! One thing that I love about these masks is that they come with a lid so that you don’t need to waste it. I think I can get 2-3 uses out of each pack so that lid really comes in handy! I’m excited to try the kiwi formula!

IMG_20150217_135233IMG_20150217_135314

Etude Sweet Recipe Candy Stick 2g ($5)

Enriched with bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon extracts, the Sweet Recipe Candy Stick is a loss type lip tint that moisturizes and plumps up your dry, chapped lips for a long-lasting radiance.

Last but not least we have this lip tint. I’m pretty sure this came in a Memebox before I started buying them but I have never received one before. There were three possible scents/colours for this box: seedless strawberry candy, oh! orange candy or sour lemon candy. I received the seedless strawberry version and I am pretty happy with it. I was surprised by how much colour it actually put off and the scent is quite nice! I look forward to using this!

I am surprisingly happy with this box. I bought it because it was part of the bundle but thought that it might just be cutesy stuff that I didn’t really care about. I was surprised at how nice the products in the box were. I paid $25 for this box and the total retail value is $89. I am glad I bought this one so I have mixed feelings of happy and sad because this is the last box.

Sorry I don’t have any coupon codes for you but if you would like to check out their website and make a purchase (until February 10 for everybody or anytime for China, Korea, and US residents), than you can do so at http://us.memebox.com/

Memebox Find Your Signature Scent

Signature Scent

What’s your signature scent? Committing to one scent can be hard for most women. This box, packed with a variety of mood-enhancing aromas that will help you to relax and take a break from all the stress! Why limit yourself to one fragrance when there are so many to choose from?

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. IMG_20150217_134326

I ordered this box because I thought there would be some cool scented products and some perfumes in here, let’s see what came in the box and what I thought of it!

IMG_20150217_141002IMG_20150217_141035

IMG_20150217_141156

Bellespiani Boutique Cleanser Rose 100g ($41)

This gently skin brightening cleanser powered by real rose petals dissolves away makeup, oil, and impurities and exfoliates skin naturally to uncover even, luminous skin. Real bits of rose petals gives a subtle rose fragrance and also acts as natural exfoliant to cleanse away all makeup and oil residue to leave the skin cleansed, refreshed, and glowing. Also, the pH 5 formula makes it a great daily cleanser gently enough for daily use.

This was the spoiler for this box which did sound nice, although not exactly the kind of scented product I had in mind. I can’t imagine paying $41 for this little jar of cleanser but we do know that Memebox retail prices tend to be inflated. I don’t usually open products that I don’t need at the moment but since this was a scent box, I figured I should be able to actually comment on the scents. I do enjoy the scent of this one. It has a super unusual looking texture but I think it will be nice. It is noted on the card that this is best before December of 2015 which is a bit disappointing but since it is pretty easy to use cleansers up quickly, this shouldn’t be a big issue.

IMG_20150217_141325IMG_20150217_141346

Yahah Auto Lip Crayon in Pink Holic 2.5g ($10)

This super sweet and fruity scented lip crayon glides on effortlessly and wraps lips in sinfully sweet scent and highly pigmented colour. The hydrating formula is packed with rose hip oil, avocado oil, and macadamia seed oil to plump and perfect, for more lovely lip. The high-pigment colour stays put – no smudging or bleeding – making sure your lips are on point throughout the night.

I actually really love the colour of this lip crayon. I’m not sure if it will live up to the promises of no smudging or bleeding because I haven’t worn it on my lips yet, but it definitely is pigmented. I wasn’t expecting the smell to be great but it actually is! It is a nice berry type smell that I really enjoy!

IMG_20150217_141432

Innoface Alie Vera Soothing Gel 100ml ($18)

This refreshing aloe vera scented gel is formulated with fresh aloe vera, trelahose, parsley, and broccoli extract, this portable, soothing gel soothes sunburns, windburns, razor burns and other minor irritations. It can also be used as a daily moisturizer for those that suffer with oily skin. Use it on the face to speed up the recovery process for acne and other blemishes, or just to keep yourself refreshed throughout the day, never have this portable gel out of sight.

I have to say, this one irritates me a little bit. First of all, I think they are overstating how much people use aloe vera in day to day life. I personally only use it when I have a pretty bad sunburn which in the middle of winter, does not happen for me. Secondly, I would not consider this to be a product that fits the scent theme really. I don’t know anyone who wears aloe gel so that they can smell like aloe vera. Finally, this little pot is definitely not worth $18 so I think for the most part, this is a miss for me. I may find some use for it in the summer but I’m not sure, hopefully I won’t be getting any bad sunburns.

IMG_20150217_141553

Secretkey Glam Romance Perfume Body Lotion 180ml ($16)

This beautifully scented, creamy body lotion has a beautiful musky scent that is enriched with macadamia nut and aloe vera extracts to soften, moisturize, and rejuvenate the skin. Plant extracts in the formula deeply nourish, help improve skin elasticity and smoothness, and provide head-to-toe hydration. It contains a proprietary blend of natural oils, emollients, extract, and oils known to soften and revitalize dry, tired skin.

I think that they were on the right track with a scented body lotion and this definitely could have been a hit. However, I do not find musky scents to be beautiful at all. I personally dislike them quite a bit so this scent really isn’t for me. This is just a personal preference though, I’m sure some people find the scent to be very nice, it just isn’t for me unfortunately.

IMG_20150217_141705

X.O.X Kisses Mist 30ml ($4)

This product was randomly selected from green tea, floral, rose bouquet, peppermint, fruity, or lavender. I received the peppermint version which is just a plain packaging knock off of Red Bull holy moly. I probably would have preferred the fruity or lavender version of this. The peppermint is very strong and I wouldn’t want to smell like it but maybe I can use it as a kind of aromatherapy or something when I’m not feeling well. This bottle actually had leaked all over my box too when I received it so a far amount of the product was actually lost.

Overall, I think that Memebox kind of missed the mark on this one in terms of the actual theme. I think that a lot of people were disappointed in the fact that this is a scent box and not a single actual perfume type product was included. I think I was disappointed because the scents all seemed to be drugstore, plain types of scents and I think they could have done a much better job curating this one. For this box, I paid about $25 and the total retail value was $89.

Sorry I don’t have any coupon codes for you but if you would like to check out their website and make a purchase (until February 10 for everybody or anytime for China, Korea, and US residents), than you can do so at http://us.memebox.com/

Ipsy January 2015

For those of you who don’t know what Ipsy is, it is a monthly beauty subscription service. The cost is $10 per month plus $5 shipping per month to Canada. When you sign up, you take a little quiz about your preferences and details about yourself and they use that to choose appropriate products for you. Each month you will get a beautiful pink bubble mailer and inside is a cosmetics bag with the products inside. The cosmetics bag is different each month which is kind of cool! You can review products and share on social media in order to get Ipsy points which you can accumulate to buy certain products.

I believe the theme for this month was “Fresh Start” which makes sense since it is the start of a new year. Let’s see what we got in this bag!

January 2015 Bag

The bag itself is this blue on one side and white on the other with a coral kind of zipper. It is alright, not my favourite design but it isn’t bad.

J Cat EyelinerJ Cat Eyeliner Swatch

J.Cat Beauty Fantabulous Gele Eye Liner in Blue Black

Although I have been using mostly liquid liner these days, I am quite a fan of gel liners and the way that they wear. When I swatched this, it stayed put after it had set right until I pulled out the makeup remover. Even when I washed my hands and scrubbed at it with soap it didn’t move so that is nice. My complaint would be that it is blue black which isn’t as wearable for me on a daily basis but I will try it out and see if I can make it work. I am pretty happy with this product.

This is a full sized product and it retails for $5.99.

Manna Kadar Sheer Glo

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo

I tried to swatch this but really it is so sheer that it wasn’t going to show up on camera. Once it is rubbed in, it does give a shimmer when the sunlight hits it. I think that this would be really nice in the spring and summer when glowy things aren’t so out of place. I do appreciate that it is sheer and not pink toned on my skin though. I will be excited to see how this wears!

This sample size is 0.27 oz and is valued at $7.84. The full size is 1 oz and retails for $29.

Nourish Organic Eye Cream

Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream

This is a repeat from a previous Ipsy bag but not a product that I have received before so it’s not so bad. Reading through the comments about this product, it seems like people really like it so if it is a good product than that is great! It seems that this cream was not actually sold until January from the company and these were sent out before it began retailing. I believe that they have just called it a different name on the company website but that it is the same as this product. I am still going through an eye cream but I am excited to see if this is worth the hype.

From what I can tell, the product is 0.5 oz in the full size which is the size of this tube as well. If that is true, than this retails for $19.99. Very cool!

Pacfica EyeshadowPacifica Eyeshadow

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in Ethereal

I received the shade Ethereal and the other option for this shadow was Treasure which looks like more of a bronzed brown kind of colour. It is a little hard to see this colour in the swatch because it is so light. I think that this would make a really nice highlight colour for the inner corner of your eye or under your brow bone! I do have several highlight colours so this will probably last forever. I am intrigued by the use of coconut in the eyeshadow and can’t wait to see if that makes a difference in how it wears.

These eyeshadows are only sold in larger palettes which retail for about $14. I have divided this up and estimated that it is worth $4.67.

Real Techniques Brush

Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush

This was the product that I was most excited for in the bag this month! I have heard so much about Real Techniques brushes and have been wanting to try them but hadn’t taken the plunge. Along with this, I have been considering buying a liner brush. I did have more of an angled brush type of thing in mind but this is awesome too. I was absolutely thrilled when I pulled this out of the bag!

This is a full size product and retails for $6.

I am pretty happy with this bag. It isn’t my favourite that I have received before but it isn’t my least favourite either. I will use (or at least try) all of the products in the bag! The total retail value of the items is $44.49 which isn’t too bad either.

If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy, you can use my link http://www.ipsy.com/r/c762?sid=ipsypoints&cid=general or you can check them out without my link at www.ipsy.com

Let me know what you got in your December Ipsy bag!

Memebox Christmas Collection #4 2014 K-Beauty Wrap-Up No.2

Christmas Collection 4

A facial cream that brightens up skin and makes you look years younger? A magical concoction that obliterates eye bags and dark circles? This isn’t a list of your Christmas wishes being granted – it’s just a few of 2014’s most raved about beauty breakthroughs in Seoul! There are about a zillion beauty products out there that claim to enhance skin, reverse signs of aging, and overall rev up your beauty. Think you’ve heard the same agenda over and over again? Here’s the difference: this one-of-a-kind box actually works, and we’ve got proof – all the ladies in Seoul are lovin’ all the goodies in this box! Don’t toil away the future months waiting for your beauty products to take effect, see a difference NOW with our new and improved K-BEAUTY WRAP-UP #2! This December, don’t just address your most nagging beauty concerns – obliterate them forever!

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

K-Beauty Wrap Up 2 Box

O'GCE Pack Set

O’Gce Minus Touch Cooling Nose Pack Set [Cooling Nose Pack 10 pcs + Pore Slim Pad Pouch 10 pcs] ($24)

No more blackheads and oily mess around your noses! The Cooling Nose Pack’s blend of blue menthol, button flower, arnica, and pancratium maritmum extract effectively soothe and cool down dry, irritated nose. Then the Pore Slim Pad’s gently formula based on camellia extracts and witch hazel extracts works to tighten and refresh visibly enlarged pores.

How to Use: Cleanse the nose thoroughly with water. With dry hands, remove the translucent film from the Cooling Nose Pack and place the smoother side over your nose. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes. Peel off from the outer edges. Gently rinse with water or toner. As for the Pore Slim Pad, place it over puffy eyes or nose in the morning for about 10-15 minutes. Remove and follow with toner and emulsion.

I am actually pretty excited to receive this product! I love nose and face strips and haven’t been able to try any Korean strips yet. Not only that, but to get 10 of each the nose and face strips is great! Some boxes might give you only one or two of each, so these will last a long time. I haven’t tried these yet because I don’t like to use them too often but I really do look forward to seeing how they compare with ones I’ve tried before.

Radiance Whitening Cream

Eclado Real Radiance Whitening Cream 40g ($50)

This non-sticky, lightweight formula absorbs into skin smoothly to reduce appearance of dry patches and roughened skin texture and to brighten up dulled complexion. A blend of allantoin, licorice, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, green tea extracts, and portulaca extracts replenishes, softens, and rejuvenates to give skin a healthy glow and youthful radiance.

How to Use: Massage the cream gently all over clean face as the last step to skin care. Pat in with clean hands for full absorbance.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. Whitening creams as a concept make me a little bit nervous. I have read that Asian whitening creams are more of a brightening product than actual whitening so I hope that is right. If it does work for brightening than it would be nice in the winter when my skin is a lot more dull than the warmer months. I will probably spot test this one before I slather it all over my face.

Mineral Bio Clay Pack

Mineral Bio Natural Mineral White Clay Pack 80ml ($24)

Detoxify, purify, and refine the skin with the power of white clay. Combined with the pore-unclogging and oil-absorbing powers of kaolin and pure mineral water, this detoxifying mask helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and rid the pores of harmful, pore-clogging toxins. It also shrinks enlarged pores for the look of pore-free, porcelain skin, and controls shine for a refined look. All the products from Mineral Bio are greatly acknowledged for high content of natural mineral water which was also approved and categorized by the US FDA as being “High Mineral Content.”

How to Use: Spread the clay pack evenly over clean face. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Massage gently with lukewarm water and rinse off. Follow with toner. Recommended to be used 2-3 times a week.

This is another one that I am pretty excited about! I haven’t tried any clay masks up until now. I received this and the Claypatra masks in the Boxing Day #2 box both on the same day so that is awesome! I have heard a lot about what clay can do for your skin so I am interested to see if it can do anything for me. I really hope it can do something for enlarged pores because that is an issue that I deal with.

I.Myss Eye Cream

I.Myss Natural Toc Face Tuning Eye Cream 30 ml ($30)

It’s about time you upgrade your skincare regiment to include things like eye creams – if you wish to maintain your youthfulness for as long as possible! The natural Toc Face Tuning Eye Cream enriched with natural ingredients such as tea tree extracts and argan oil are perfect for those just entering the world of ‘anti-aging’. It’s gently in formula, delivers intense hydration and nutrition, and suitable for daily use because it melts softly into eye contours with a moist, light finish.

I feel a little neutral about this one. I have found an eye cream that I really love and have been using so I don’t really need this. However, when I finish the one that I am using now, I will try it out. There were two options for this cream: tea tree oil and argan oil. I was happy to receive the argan oil option because I think that it will do more for me than the tea tree oil version would. I probably won’t get to this for awhile so I won’t know how it works until later on.

I.Myss Concealer

I.Myss Concealer Swatch

I.Myss Cantabile Stick BB Concealer 1ea ($13)

Cantabile Stick BB Concealer adheres tightly over blemishes or acne scars to provide flawlessly smooth and porcelain-finish coverage. It comes in an easy-to-carry stick type and its moisturizing formula enriched with vitamin E complex helps maintain skin moist and soft.

There were two colour options for this one, #01 Light Beige and #02 Natural Beige. I unfortunately received the #02 Natural Beige concealer which is quite a bit darker than my own skin (as can be seen in the swatch above). It seems that whenever Memebox sends me concealers, I get the colour that is too dark for me. I will have to see if there is a way that I can make this work, but I’m not sure. Maybe I will save it for the summer when I have slightly more colour to my face. Granted, slightly more colour for me just means a little bit less pale.

Xaivita Cleanser

Xaivita+ Goat Milk Skin Care Series: Goat Milk Vitamin Scrub Foam Cleansing 150 ml

This is a scrub foam cleanser containing goat milk and abundant vitamin nutrients to help exfoliate excess skin impurities, dust, dead skin cells, and sebum. It will deep cleanse the face and replenish vitality and healthy glow to your face. Contains no artificial additives thus gently and non-irritating to all skin types.

For this box I received the Vitamin Scrub Foam Cleanser but there were many possibilities for products from the Goat Milk Skin Care Series. The other options were: Goat Milk Bubble Soap (85g), Goat Milk Moisturizing Hand Cream (70ml), Goat Milk Wrinkle Essence (80m), and Goat Milk Bubble Foam Cleansing (150ml). There isn’t a price listed for any of these options but they are all full sized. I think that I would have chosen the essence if I had the choice but what I got would have been my second choice! I have so many cleansers but I am intrigued by the fact that it is a scrub foam cleanser. Hopefully it is actually a scrub type of product and that it doesn’t just have scrub in the name.

I’m actually quite happy with this box! I paid $25 for the box and received products with a retail value of $164 (not including the goat milk cleanser). We will see about the concealer and the whitening cream but I’m sure they will be fine! I’m pretty happy that I bought this one. I hadn’t heard great things about the original K-Beauty Wrap-Up so this was a nice surprise!

Memebox Boxing Day Special #4

Boxing Day 4

Last but not least, Memebox presents you with our final Boxing Day Special #4! This lovely box offers 5 full-sized skin care and makeup products from the hottest K-beauty stores (like Skinfood and Tonymoly anyone?) for only $23! Grab yours now, because Boxing Day Special boxes come in limited quantities only and we don’t want you to miss out!

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

The promise of brands such as Skinfood and Tonymoly was the reason that I purchased this box. I have liked products from these brands before and was excited to see which new products of theirs I could try. Let’s see what we got.

Boxing Day 4 Box

Skinfood Eyebrow ClosedSkinfood Eyebrow

Skinfood Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake 4g ($5)

Formulated with cacao extracts, this Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake carries two naturally blending grey, khaki, or brown shades for shaping and defining fine arches with an easy sweep.

01 Grey Khaki Black, 02 Grey Brown

This is not a product that I was excited about to be honest. I received this product in my Skinfood box and wasn’t overly excited about it at the time either. You could have received 01 Grey Khaki Black or 02 Grey Brown and I received 02 Grey Brown which is the exact same colour I got last time. I think I will probably find someone to pass this along to.

Skinfood Tomato Toner

Skinfood Tomato Whitening Toner 180 ml ($17)

A premium Tomato Whitening Toner made from sun-ripe tomato extracts and Vitamin C complex to make skin brighter, clearer, and suppler.

This is another repeat from the Skinfood box that I received. I finished this bottle of toner literally only a couple of days before receiving this box which was kind of funny. I did enjoy this toner. I found it quite refreshing and it actually became my favourite part of my skincare routine. I am working on a lemon peeling toner at the moment but I think that this one is next in line (based on expiry date). Its not so great that this is a repeat but at least it is something I know I like!

Nuganic BB

Nuganic Customize Anti-Wrinkle BB or Customize Pure Snail BB 40 ml ($54)

Nuganic BB Creams work to balance out the skin’s oil & moisture level for a silky smooth finish to your makeup. They offer strong UV protection while effectively covering up skin imperfections and leaving your skin glowing with a natural shine. The Anti-Wrinkle BB is enriched with adenosine, arbutin, ginseng extracts and more, and the Pure Snail BB bases its formula on snail mucin filtrate, aloe vera leaf, lemon, and various herbal ingredients.

There were two options for which kind of BB cream you got and I was really indifferent to which one that I had to be honest. I have not opened this because I have several BB creams open at the moment but I’m sure it will be nice. There is no shade listed so we will see how it matches. I haven’t had too much trouble matching the Korean BB creams so far because I am pretty fair. I am excited to try this!

Skinfood Cleanser

Skinfood Egg White Pore Meringue Foam 200ml ($13)

Abundant, meringue-like fine bubbles penetrate deep into skin without irritating or dehydrating the skin texture. Highly recommended for weak and sensitive oily skin types.

This is the final repeat product in this box, also from the Skinfood box. I am a couple of days from finishing my first bottle of this cleanser and I have enjoyed it so I am not upset to have another one. I have so many cleansers at the moment that I may never run out!

Tonymoly Tint Swatch

Tonymoly Delight Tony Tint 8.3ml ($4)

One of the bestselling lip tints in Korea, this tint instantly gives vivid red colour to your lips with just a single touch. It creates the long-lasting, radiant lips, popular among Korean beauty lovers.

How to Use: Apply small amount to inner center of the lip. Blend it outwards to create gradient lips.

The final product of this box is a Tonymoly lip tint. For some reason I skipped actually taking a picture of the packaging but you can see the swatch above. I received 01 Cheery Pink and the other choices were 02 Red or 03 Orange Cha Cha. I am so unbelievably happy that I didn’t get the orange version of this! When I read that it was Cheery Pink, I was a little afraid it would be a Barbie kind of pink. Fortunately for me, it is a deeper pink that I actually like quite a bit. Once it sets, it doesn’t seem to budge so that is great! As you can see in the picture, the colour may feather out a bit so be careful with it on your lips!

I paid $25 for this box and received products that are valued at $93. I am still waiting on my Boxing Day #5 box but so far this has been my least favourite of the Boxing Day boxes. It’s not that these are bad products, I just would have preferred getting something new that I haven’t tried before. Overall, an alright box.

Memebox Boxing Day Special #2

Boxing Day 2

Boxing day Special Box #2 is sure to be a delight! This super special box bursts with 10 deluxe miniatures and 1 full-sized item for only $12! It’s got everything from cleansing essentials, complexion-perfectors, and salon quality hair treatments that is sure to level up your beauty!

If you have not heard of Memebox, it is a Korean beauty box that contains a variety of skin care, makeup, and other beauty products. Sometimes if boxes are due to ship at the same time, they will have bundles so that there is only one shipping cost.

The reason that I bought this box was because it was so cheap and there would be so many products inside. Memebox promised 10 miniature products and 1 full sized product to be in the box. I know that some people were a little skeptical about this, myself included, because they were afraid the miniatures might not be any good. Let’s see what we got!

Boxing Day 2

Derma B Lotion

Derma B Fresh Moisture Body Lotion 50 ml ($2.38)

A nourishing body lotion targeting dry and sensitive skin types. It’s infused with tea tree, peppermint, bergamot, ginger, and amber notes in a refreshing herbal blend. Its gentle formula is non-sticky, fast-absorbing, and best kept refrigerated.

I wouldn’t say that this is necessarily the most exciting product in the world but it definitely is useful for this time of year! My skin is always so dry, particularly after showering, so I will put this to good use for sure! I’m not sure what it smells like because I did not open it yet, but hopefully it won’t be too herbal smelling.

The full size is 400ml and retails for $19.

Claypatra

Banila Co. Claypatra Mineral Salt Clay Pack 12g x 2ea ($5.28)

The 100% pure mud extracted straight from the Dead Sea (consists 32% of salt and minerals) effectively removes any excess sebum, oil, dead skin cells, and external pollutants clogged up in the pores. The mineral-rich formula also delivers deep hydration and nourishment to dry, dull skin.

How to Use: Spread the clay pack evenly over clean face. Rest for 10 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. Gently massage with your finger tips to exfoliate dead skin cells while rinsing.

I am really excited to receive this product! I have seen tons of people with it since I started getting Memebox and always kind of wanted to try it. These are small pots so I am glad that they gave us 2 of them. I was worried that since there are 2 pots, that these counted as 2 of the miniatures but they only count as one which is amazing! I am definitely going to be trying this soon.

The full size is 100g and retails for $22.

Hanskin

Hanskin Bio Origin Royal Ampoule BB SPF30 PA++ 5ml ($7.71)

Hanskin’s famous Royal Ampoule BB cream is packed with rich nutrients from royal jelly extracts and it lightly glides over your skin when applied, leaving a visibly silkier, brightened complexion.

How to Use: Apply a single drop evenly over clean face. Blend it in using your fingers.

At first when I looked at this, I apparently stopped reading, and only thought it was an ampoule but apparently it is a BB cream. I am curious to see how a single drop of this is going to provide any kind of coverage but we will see. Like I said in a previous post, I have so many BB creams lying around so I am trying to use the open ones before I get to these new ones.

The full size is 35 ml and retails for $54.

Tonymoly BCDation

Tonymoly BCDation All Master SPF30 PA++ 20 g ($9.60)

This multi-functional BCDation from Tonymoly is a makeup base, a BB cream, a CC cream, and a foundation all in one. It not only corrects, blurs, and balances out the skin tone but also moisturizes, lifts, and adds extra volume for a silky smooth 3D complexion.

How to Use: Apply a pearl-sized amount evenly over clean face. Apply more onto T-zone and under eye areas for highlighting effect. Follow with powder application.

Here is another BB Cream. All of the ones that I have received lately do not have shades so I am assuming it is one that kind of adapts to your skin tone. That or they will all look really funny and mismatched on me, only one way to find out though! I am hoping that this really does blur the skin tone, maybe give a bit of that airbrushed look. This is probably way too much to ask for though. We will see how things go once I crack this bad boy open.

The full size is 50g and retails for $24.

Clean It Zero

Banila Co. Clean It Zero 7g x 4ea ($6.16)

This makeup remover goes on as a sherbet-like balm and transforms into a silky oil that effortlessly dissolves makeup and sunscreen. Its non-greasy, gently formula made from papaya, acerola, and herbal extracts cleanse thoroughly without dehydrating the skin.

How to Use: Take out the formula with the spatula and gently massage into skin. Rinse off with water or wipe away with a tissue.

This is another product that I am super excited to have! I have seen so many people rave about these little oil cleansers that I almost bought it off of someones swap/sell board just so I can try it. Obviously now I am glad that I didn’t. We received 4 little pots of this which should definitely be enough to gather an opinion on the product. These didn’t come with a spatula that I could see but that’s okay since it is a sample. I have not tried any oil cleansers yet so I can’t wait to crack into these!

The full size is 100 ml and retails for $22.

Dr Young Cleansing Gel

Dr. Young Pore Syok-Syok Cleansing Gel 15ml x 2ea ($5.60)

This gel-type deep cleanser penetrates deep down into pores to remove all excess oil, dirt, impurities, and sebum clogged up inside. A blend of morus bark, agrimonia eupatoria root extracts, and lime extracts deliver gentle yet effective sebum control and pore care. It’s oil-free, lightweight, and moisturizing as well.

This is a useful product but not one that I am super excited about. I am not the biggest fan of gel cleansers but I will still use them. On the bright side, Memebox did give us 2 little tubes which is nice because it gives you a good chance to try the product out over some time.

The full size is 150 ml and retails for $28.

Dinoplatz CC

Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cinema City 10 ml ($10)

Delivering abundant nutrition and moisture to your skin for an egg-smooth texture, this multi-functional CC cream will brighten up your complexion, protect from the sun, and take care of signs of aging as well.

How to Use: Evenly spread the CC cream all over clean, well moisturized face. Blend it in with your hands for better adherence to skin.

The packaging of this is just adorable. I feel like I shouldn’t be as excited about it as I am but who cares. I have never tried a CC cream and am not sure how the formula differs from a BB cream. If you know, let me know in the comments below. At the moment, I am going to assume it is mostly like a BB cream and keep it sealed up until I get through some of my current BB creams.

The full size is 30 ml and retails for $30.

Perfect Repair

Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Treatment Pack 180ml ($16)

A simple 2-step hair care – shampoo and rinse – isn’t enough as the weather becomes chillier and drier. Twice a week, use this nourishing Perfect Repair Treatment Pack to deliver deep nutrition and repair and protect damaged hair ends.

How to Use: After shampoo, apply the treatment pack throughout your hair and rinse off after 2-3 minutes.

This was the full size product in the box which will be great if it does what it says it is supposed to. I have said before that I am trying to grow my hair out a bit which means that my ends aren’t in the greatest shape. I would love if this could work some magic on the ends of my hair so it can look nice and healthy. It does not specify how many times a week this should be used so it almost seems like it is alright to use daily. I look forward to trying this!

Seven Drops

Seven Drops High Protection Moringa Light Sunblock SPF50+ PA+++ 7g ($5.32)

A lightweight sunblock enriched with nourishing moringa extracts. The 100% naturally derived formula is extremely gentle to all skin types and free of paraben, mineral oil, benzophenone, silicon, and talc. It provides high level of UV protection and the light formula absorbs easily and smoothly into the skin like an essence and leaves skin with a lingering moringa scent.

This is such a cute little trial size of this product. I have a sunblock on the go already and 2 or 3 waiting in the wings but this will definitely join the list of sunblocks to use. These will definitely come in handy when the weather gets warm enough that I actually want to leave my house.

Anti Hair Loss Treatment

RYO Anti Hair Loss Treatment 50 ml ($3)

Infused with biota seed, coix seed, green tea and gold extracts, this hair treatment will not only prevent hair loss but also re-energize and strengthen thin, damaged hair. Its excellent cooling formula will gently soothe and nourish your scalp at the same time.

How to Use: Apply generously over wet hair and massage the scalp with your fingertips. Wait for 2-3 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Use daily.

This is an interesting product. I wouldn’t say I have any hair loss other than daily loss that everyone has but my hair is fairly thin so I wonder if this can actually do anything to help that. I am glad that they specified that it is okay to use daily because with intensive treatments you never really know. I am a little bit skeptical of this but I will definitely try it!

The full size is 200 ml and retails for $12.

Witchs PouchWitchs Pouch Swatch

Witch’s Pouch Radiant Lolli Tint 03 Funky Bloom 2.5g ($7.78)

This is a 3 in 1 must-have lip item that brings together the glossiness of lip glosses, naturally blending formula of lip tints, and the colourful radiance of lipsticks. It melts onto lips for a lasting pigmentation that instantly lights up your complexion with funky hot pink radiance.

How to Use: Apply directly to inner center of your lip and blend it outwards.

I have seen this before in Memebox unboxings and when I opened the package I was a little bit concerned about the colour. It is pretty pigmented but not as much as I thought it would be which is kind of a good thing to be honest. I do really like this colour though and think that it will be great for the spring and summer! Or perhaps even on a winter day when I want to pretend that it is summer (which is most winter days). When I swatched this on my hand, it looked quite shiny but when I touched it, it didn’t smudge. Almost like the colour had dried to be a tint and then there was still a gloss kind of finish on top. I am very intrigued by this and can’t wait to try it on my lips!

So for this box I only paid $12 and received a suggested retail value of $62.83. People were quite nervous about this box but I am really excited! I think that this is an absolutely great box and I loved that there were so many products inside. I know that it is great getting full sized products in Memeboxes but I think it would be neat if they did a box like this every once in awhile so could try out a bunch of new products! I am a very happy camper 🙂
